I will get a galia lahav giselle dress from JBS and I’m sure, I will need something like a hoop skirt but I hate hoopskirts… It always look so strange, when the bride puts the dress a litle bit higher and you can see her feet… and the hoop skirt alsways swings so strange when you walk…
Do you have an alternativ or did you ever saw a hoop skirt without hoops?

Larik: I think what you’re looking for is a petticoat. It’s an underskirt to help fill out your wedding dress. They sell ones with various [for lack of a better word] fluffiness. I had gotten a fuller petticoat for my A-Line dress and it gave my dress a more defined shape that it was meant to have. They make ones for different style dresses (such as ball gown or fit & flare styles) too.
I had gotten mines from David’s Bridal and is something like this:

don’t want to tell you you’re wrong…if you hate hoops you hate hoops, but….MAN ALIVE they make it so much easier to walk. 😀
And they keep all those bajillion layers off your legs. I’d try one juuuuust in case.
but yes. petticoat/crinoline will give volume without a hoop.

I had a small hoop skirt with my dress (Maggie Sottero Primrose) and it looked and moved fine. You can only see it in one picture and that’s because I was standing on a curb, but I kept mine pretty low, just so it was easier for me to walk without tripping over the skirt. Other than that, I agree with cateyes, it really does help keep your legs cool! With all the ruffles on my skirt, it would have been very warm – plus it was over 70 degrees for our outdoor wedding so it helped a lot! I also suggest trying on a hoop AND a petticoat and seeing which you like better and which works best with your dress. <br />
