a). He was drunk.  b). He’s a guy. He probably isn’t going to overthink it.

If you’re really worried, you can always ask him about it directly & let him know that the 5 year plan isn’t set in stone & that you would entertain earlier offers.

@trying_to_keep_hope:  Sorry but you should probably rectify this situation, or he might take you at your word!  Knowing my guy, if he asked me a direct question like that and I gave him an answer, he wouldn’t read through any hints or behavior that suggested otherwise – he’d be like “OK 5 years is what she wants, I’ll revisit this then!”  The end, until 5 years comes.

Just tell him honestly, you were trying to play it cool, but you think you’ve dated long enough by now and would be ready for the next step any time….

I would be completely honest and just tell him that his question caught you off guard and you didn’t really consider your answer, but that you think you’d like to be engaged in the next (1-2, 2-3, etc…) years. And then maybe ask him what he was thinking! Who knows, you guys might be on the same page? Just be honest, no need to play it cool unless you’re being over-eager about it to begin with.
