So I currently have appointments at my salon for myself and the women in the wedding to get our hair done at the same time the morning of the wedding. Bottom line – we’re cutting it close with when we have to be back to the hotel to meet my makeup artist. My stylist (who IS my regular stylist and cuts and colors my hair wonderfully!) swears we will be out on time. I can also have my makeup artist company do our hair at the hotel and eliminate the need to drive back and forth. The price difference between the two is negligible since we already have makeup services booked. But I trust my stylist more. But I know the makeup/hair folks would be less stress about timeline and they’ll be good. I’m like a crazy bouncy ball going back and forth about this. I should add – the cost would increase drastically if my stylist would come to me, so that is not an option. So….please vote and help me decide!

I went to my salon the morning of and it worked out great. It was relaxing to have some quiet time early in the morning and not have everything done at the venue with everyone there…. and it cost like an extra $100 to have her come to me on a Sunday, so screw that.

I am having both the hair and makeup come to my house along with all the girls who want hair and makeup done. I think it is easier for everyone to meet in one place than run from salon to hotel to wedding.

if you have a good relationship with your stylist, and there’s not an existing makeup artist at her salon could you maybe try to get them to let the makeup artist come to the salon?

Ask the makeup artists to come to the salon, or have your hair appointment moved from say 9am to 8am. You have to have your hair done before the makeup, so doing your hair at the salon is gonna be tight, but I so recommend staying with your staple stylist. Some stylists get offended when you use a secondary stylist. They may even never make appointments for you anymore. You owe it to your stylist to go to her, but obviously, the makeup comes later. So, see if you can get the appointment moved up an hour, or have the makeup artist come to you, cuz you don’t owe them anything. Hope this helps, a little.
