Hello fellow Ohioan! I believe that I can help you out.

I’m from Massillon but had my reception in downtown Canton. We used the Cultural Center (the art museum) lobby and it was amazing! to rent the hall was $750 and that included set-up, and tear down and everything. The staff there set up the tables and chairs and whatever decorations. We had chinese lanterns hung from the dance floor and they did that all for free.

Now they do have their licour license so it was $11 per person for alchohol and we had 2 bars and 6 bartenders and they did not charge extra for that. They even give the wedding party a complimentary champagne toast.

It’s a HUGE place. It seats I believe, up to 500. We had around 300 and it was perfect. The chairs and tables were able to be spaced out so it was not crowded and moving was super easy.

I could reccomend a couple of awesome caterer’s as well. They have ones they suggest, too!

Check your local churches. We are using a church in New Albany- Tear down and set up included is $800 for parishoners and $900 for non parishoners (though it is a church so if you approach them about the cost they may be able to work something out even if you aren’t the parishoner) I would suggest Carfagnas in Columbus for catering if you go this route in Columbus. We are feeding 200 with an open bar for about 6k. While I know this might be over budget for you, keep in mind I said open bar 😉
