Ugh…It’s driving me nuts. I am very particular about keeping my face clean, but I know my acne is hormonal because it’s around my jawline and cheeks. I had to switch BC pills because the last one was removed from the market due to a lawsuit with the brand name (I was on generic).
I don’t know what to do. I started using Dermalogica a couple of weeks ago and it doesn’t seem to be improving. Before that, I was a Neutrogena and Origins girl.
Any suggestions? I’m trying to get my gyno to prescribe something that helps with acne, but everything they recommend is too expensive!

Aldactone, its a med for blood pressure, but it decreases your testerone ( ie decreases the hormones that cause acne). It works great on acne. I
ve tried EVERYTHING and this completely cleared my skin. Talk to your MD about it, although I wouldnt be surprised if they haven`t heard of it being used this way. My derm wrote for it for me, you may have to see one to get a script.

I had to change birth controls a couple times to find one that worked for me acne wise. I have been on minocycline (antibiotic/antibacterial) for years for my face and prior to birth control had virtually no acne problems but the pill totally messed with my acne. I just kept going in every couple months and asking to try something different. Certain pills are better for acne control than others and certain ones work for different people. For me Yaz, not the generic – it made my acne worse again, was the solution. My skin is still not quite as good as it was when I wasn’t on the pill but it’s VERY close.
