Are you still looking for a linen company? I really loved working with Jill Vidal at Elegant Beginnings. They're located in the Humble/Atascocita area.
Ac tually I am!
I will give them a call today :)
Thank you Owlbride
@owlbride- I was just about to recomend them! I'm using them and my aunt use to use them when she was doing wedding planning. They are laid back but the same thing happened to me. We had an appointment and two others walked in. They made sure that I was taken care of.
A Narciussus Affair (sp) actually works in Houston as well. I think she may be phasing it out because she's here in Baton Rouge as well. Her prices are really really really fair.
YIKES! Sorry to hear about your experience. They're actually doing my linens on the 17th of April and they've actually been great to work with for me. They did my girlfriend' s as well last year and it came out really nicely. Any who, I hope things work out and you find your linens soon! Good Luck!
BTW, cute profile pic!
Suspicious poster above! 1 post and its to defend the company that is being criticized? <Shakes head>
If they defend them, I can careless.. All I know is that they treated me like crap and it's something that I'm not going to forget. They don't honor appointments.
I have an appointment tomorrow morning with another company, I told them the story and they guaranteed me it will NOT happen, since they are by appointment only.
I had my appointment today with Elegant Linens and Beth was just amazing!!
We got a great deal and the linens look beautiful!
I'm so very happy I went with them
Elva:
I was quite surprised to receive the link to your post from one of my current brides last evening. I am disappointed that we could not work things out privately but understand your desire to vent your frustrations on the board. We emailed you privately after we rec’d your correspondence last Sunday evening. We never rec’d a response back from you so I considered the matter closed. I was wrong so I will take a moment to publically apologize to you for your wait time during our open house on Sunday.
The turn out was great at our Linen Open House but yet quite unexpected. We were trying our best to accommodate everyone to the best of our abilities. If I recall correctly, your appointment was at 2:30 and by 2:50 approximately we had show you colors of in stock linen in your color family. When none of those colors met your expectations we provided you when color cards of fabric swatches so that you could locate the color that you envisioned. If I recall correctly, you’d found that perfect shade of peacock and even said it was “perfect”. I do know you had to wait a few more minutes before you were able to speak with me for custom pricing because I was with another bride and the lady assisting you on the floor did not have custom pricing information. I believe you chose to leave around 3:00 p.m. even though I told you that I would be with you in just a few more minutes. I totally understand that.
It is our goal to make sure every bride leaves our showroom with the best experience that we could have possibly given them. The open house was indeed quite busy and many brides left quite happy because of the great selection, impeccable service, and maybe even because of the great refreshments we were serving in the overflow room (smile). However, our goal is for 100% of the brides to leave knowing that we have offered them great service, selection, and prices. We missed the mark if that did not happen because of your experience of having to wait a few minutes to speak with me for custom color pricing.
As was stated in the private email we sent last week, we apologize for your wait time and please let us know if we can assist you in any way. We would still love to service you if you have not found a linen company and do not mind starting over. If not, please know that we wish you the best in your wedding planning and most of all in your new marriage. Feel free to privately email or call if I can be of additional assistance as I would prefer to not communicate via the forum.
I have sent my personal cell # to your private email if you’d like to speak with me this weekend regarding the matter or you can call the office on Monday.
Take Care and all the best! Candice
@Elva: I am pretty sure she still goes back and forth, you may want to give her a call and see if she is available on your date!! They worked with me on several events and she is doing the linens for my weddings.
(***Disclaimer: Remember I'm a vendor so take everything that I state with a grain of salt please and form your own decisions based on your personal experiences with every vendor. Not just mine :o))
Candice... The young lady that had walked in way after me, for example; You told me that I was next and told her she wold be after me while you were assisting another customer.. we agreed, then another family came in, you took them, then told the young lady that walked in after me, you told her that SHE was next and told me that I would be after her.. I was there before her, before the new party of customers that walked in from outside. I made my appointment, I stuck to my appointment. I waited for 20 minutes before any of you gave me something to look at. Within a couple of minutes I made my selection and yes the color was perfect, exactly what I was looking for. But all these other people that came in after me kept going ahead of me...
I saw the colors, I knew exactly what I wanted and still... walk in's had priority knowing that I had a freaking appointment. Trust me, sitting down with me for 5 minutes and sale is over, I knew exactly how many I needed, for how many tables, measurements, I came prepared so I would not take up so much of your time. I did not find it fair. But hey... I'm no one to tell you how to run your business, just suggesting that appointments come first.
I've managed businesses in the past and appointments always took priority since they took the time and made the effort to be there at the time it was agreed. I was ready to pay in full because linens is one the last things on my list. With my schedule only being one day off a week that was the only time I could get what I needed. So keeping appointments for me during this time is pretty important. I don't just walk in and expect service when there is people ahead of me.
I do not wish to talk to you, so I will not be calling you. I do not wish to have business with your company.
I have found my linens.
Thank you..

My fiancee and I went to their "open house" today, we had an appointment at 2:30pm.. To tell you that they didn't honor my appointment and allowed all these other walk in's ahead of me. Candice, the manager, said to me they were walk in's. I guess they were so excited that they had customers that decided to attend to them first, instead of the people who actually made an appointment. One lady showed me some book with linens samples and walked away... and when I told her that I knew exactly what I wanted, some other people came and sat down, who had a 3:pm appointment.. I was there before my appointment time.
We had such a horrible experience with them that I would hate for anyone else to experience this. My recommendations would be not to go to them. They don't care about what you are going through just about the money you will be giving them. Plus their contract was just insane.
We missed our cake appointment while waiting on them.
Overall, bad experience.. :(
