Longtime lurker here! I created an account just to ask if you also see the ad “Frenzy over New Diet Pill” that comes with a horrific picture of what looks to be some kind of flesh eating disease. It makes me sick to my stomach when it pops up on the sidebar and I never know which post it’s going to open in. Is there any way for me to get rid of it without making my browser smaller? Sometimes I forget to make it small after going to another site and then BAM! Horrible mouldy skin pic in my face 🙁
I guess if there’s one good thing about this, it got me to create an account and hopefully I will be able to contribute to this great community!

antigona: There was a thread about this yesterday. That was the first time I saw the pic.
Get an AdBlocker and you won’t see any of the ads.

OMG, I know exactly what you’re talking about! I almost barfed in my office. LOL!

I’ve never seen it but ads are sometime based on your cache/cookie history, so try clearing that in hopes that it will go away!

I’m pretty sure its a yam or cassava, not a flesh eating skin disease. But anyway, get AdBlocker for Chrome– it’s a miracle.

OldMrsMcDonald: it is a yam or something like that but it does look like a gross body part. it’s not just the bee, i’ve been getting that ad other places too lately.

I use the AdBlock add-in for my browser and I don’t even see ad’s here (or anywhere for that matter)

julies1949: Thanks! I use IE at work; any suggestions on a safe one to download?
I can’t belive all this time it has been a yam! It still makes me sick to my stomach though, and I just can’t look away when it pops up so I end up staring at it for a bit lol

OldMrsMcDonald: lol I thought I hadn’t seen the ad that people are talking about. I have, and it didn’t even really register with me.

antigona: clear your cache, restart your browser, and do a few internet searches on something not wedding or health related. They should go away.

tksjewelry: Thanks! I tried that with high hopes but it just popped up in the middle of the thread for me rather than on the side! Like it’s adapted to my trick of making my screen smaller =/
Will investigate what good ad blockers are safe to download for IE…

http://download.cnet.com/Adblock-IE/3000-12512_4-75650179.html would be the official Ad-Block one 🙂
Edit: Ew I just noticed that it actually costs something for IE? It’s totally 100% free on Chrome and FF.
