This isn’t wedding related but I was hoping some of you might know the answer
I am having a surprise party at my house and will be doing hors d’oeuvres and drinks. For 39 adults and 6 children how many dozen would you do. I picked 6 different kinds and am not sure how many dozen of each I should serve.

What time is the party? How long will it last? Is it expected to replace a meal? What are the rough ages of the children? (e.g 2 or 12?)

I think that the usual number per person is about 6-7.

i spoke to a wedding planner when i was looking for my venue.. and they said 2-3 pieces a person.. but that’s assuming you are providing some sort of dinner.. if not, i’d do 5-7

@october5bride: I agree with these numbers, depending on if you are doing other foods or not. If not, I think that having at least 2 dozen of each of the 6 differnt types would be sufficient, but be mindful of the kids and any allergies that you know of

@kay01- 7pm until whenever. The kids are 6months- 7yrs. I am going to note that it’s cockatils and hors d’oeuvres.

Thanks. I’ll average around 7 or a little extra.
