My Matron of Honor and my Aunt are throwing me a bridal shower in a few weeks and I have no idea what type of gift you are suppose to give your hostess for these things.  I love to do etched glass work and had though about etching a set of wine glasses for each of them with a letter and giving them glass charms.  Is this ok or better yet what have you ladies done?

I gave my 2 hosts each a box of gourmet chocolates from a local store.  They were kind of fancy and prettily wrapped, but really not too pricy ($20 each).  Not sure at all what the "standard" is!

I am giving my MOH a pandora charm or spacer because she loves those.  Otherwise I suggest a mani/pedi or a massage.  I would totally love one of those after throwing a shower!

I really like your idea!! I think they would love the project you want to do!!! Perfect!!!

It was my understanding you only have to give a cute little inexpensive gift...I got my MOH, my mother, and future MIL each a body gel/body lotion/poof pack from Bath and Body Works.  You know, b/c it's a "shower." lol.  Unfortunately only my mother got hers b/c my MIL left early from the shower and before I could give my MOH hers my father accidentally took it home in his car.  So those two have yet to get theirs.

I gave my hostess a gift card to get a massage. I don't think you have to get anything expensive but i would focus on something that is more personal to them. Something you know they would enjoy. I saw on another post that someone got their hostess a cheese board and knifes. I think anything they can use to host their next party is great! And your idea of the wine glasses would work!

i'm giving my bridesmaid who is hosting the shower at her house a le creuset baking dish (it's ~$40) and the other bridesmaid who is helping her host a clutch purse (~$30). i definitely went with the personal aspect. my one bridesmaid loves to cook and i got the dish in her favorite color and the other bridesmaid always carries a small clutch purse.
