My FH is much-loved, and because of this, there are twelve – yes, TWELVE – ladies who want to throw us a shower on his side of the guest list. Of course I am very grateful (and I love that so many people love him), but add those twelve ladies to the five (ish) that are throwing me a shower on my side, and I will need to buy hostess gifts for at least 17 people. And I am on a crazy tight budget. As in, I had originally budgeted about $60 on hostess gifts…granted, that was before I realized I would have 17+ of them. Besides that, I don’t actually KNOW most of the ladies on his side, and I’m afraid if I go *too* simple I might offend them.
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!!!

How about a very nice hand written note? Can’t ever go wrong with that, and people aren’t hosting to get gifts- they’re hosting to show their love. 🙂

I just did personalized bags of popcorn. They have a personalized thank you on the outside. It was hard to find something everyone liked, so we just went with popcorn. It was only in the 20-ish dollar range.

A small candle and a nice note would fit in your budget (which I calculated to be $3.50/person). The note is the most important part.
These Bath and Body Works minis would be perfect (18 candles for $60!):

you cant go wrong with a nice handwritten thank you. That’s all you need to give.

@texasarah: I like the idea of the bath and body works things. We have an outlet near where I live and you can get full candles for $5 or 3 large sized body stuff for under $10. If any of them are gardners, how about flowers? That’s what I’m doing 🙂 You can get good deals sometimes at farmers markets or just plant some flowers in a nice pot?

So when do you give the host a Gift? I had NO idea we had to even give one :p

Can you cook them a nice dinner as a thank you? Or even a simple dinner like spaghetti.. it’s the thought that counts!

I gave mine a plant. You know like the $5 tulip plants you get at the store.
