I’m getting married in North Carolina in December. I live in Kentucky. My Bridesmaids are from Oregon, California, Utah and Florida. Most people are planning to get into town on Thursday for our Saturday ceremony and reception. This will be the first time all my maids will be in the same place at the same time. I want to have a low-key “bachelorette” party somewhere along the lines of the PJ parties that have been suggested for other less than crazy parties.
How bad is it if I plan the party myself since all the maids will be flying in that day? I do have friends in the area, but a: none of them have offered to do anything, and b: I’m not sure I’d enjoy what they’d come up with if they did (I’m romantic movies and champagne, they’re D&D and beer).
Hive I need your help!

In your situation, I think it makes total sense for you to plan it, if that’s what you want to do!
In my situation, as I am in FL and BM’s will be flying in from WA, TX and IA as well that day (before the wedding), it’s gonna be more like a “help me with last minute stuff” as the rehearsal/RD is that night as well, but nevertheless, it’s a time we can spend together before the wedding, so go for it!!!

I think they’d appreciate it, lol. realistically! who knows, they might appreciate a low key night after flying in–maybe plan on low key on Friday night then goign “out” saturday night? best of both worlds!

I think it would be really fun to do this! There’s no reason why the bridesmaids are supposed to throw the bachelorette party other than to save the bride some stress…If you don’t mind organizing it and have the time, I think they would probably be really relieved and thankful you did it and more than happy to participate…Go for it!

I think it is totally fine! I’ll prob have 3 bridesmaids who live in 3 different states and who don’t know each other (my best friend from hs, from college, and from law school). So, I imagine I’ll prob offer to set stuff up bc it would just be too hard for them. 🙂

i think that would be good, maybe your could give each one of them a specific task to make them more involved this way you can relax a little too.
