I’d definitely go with hot and calm. I tend to prefer these kind of holidays anyway as it rarely gets hot in the UK so is nice to enjoy some sun and it’s nice to relax as I have a busy lifestyle with work and hobbies.

I think more so after my wedding I will want something relaxing to calm down after all the excitement/stress.

@RhianfaHW:  We are really not beach holiday people. We prefer action, backpacks and cultural experiences……we went to Mauritius for all inclusive luxuary. Its my first ever hoiday of the kind. We loved it. We literally did nothing for the first 4 days but eat and be. After all the excitment of the wedding we were exausted. So just being together, in our hut or on our loungers was fantastic…..we came away though, having loved our honeymoon…..saying we would not do it again. But for the honeymoon, we needed something different and that was it for us.

    Happy choosing.

I much prefer cool and adventurous. Don’t get me wrong, I like the beach, but its just never one of my ultimate destinations. Adventurous and action packed is so much more appealing to me than a pretty beach.

i prefer more adventurous.  i could sit on the beach but only for a day or 2, i want to be moving.

we toured italy for 12 days for our honeymoon.  it was an amazing trip.

Give me a private beach with a cocktail any day. I see enough snow here and both of us are beach warm weather people.

I voted for hot but that’s because I hate the cold. Love sight-seeing and exploring new cultures though.

Mr TTR & I are semi-retired, so travel is a major interest / past-time for us.

In all honesty, there is NO RIGHT or WRONG answer to this Question, as everyone is different and has a very distinct travel style…

Some people like to spend their vacations just “vegetating” other people want adventure

We sort of like a mix of both… lol

Always allowing for a couple of “down days” when we travel extensively… to just stay put, sleep in, unwind.

And as someone who is an Encore Bride, I’d have to say that is an element that EVERY HONEYMOON needs and a lot of couples forget about / don’t consider when they are making plans

The Day After the Wedding should be low key… and if you are having a Traditional BIG White Pouffy Family Wedding… maybe 2 Days of R&R before setting off full steam ahead… as Wedding Planning & even the Wedding Day can be exhausting !!

Even Mr TTR & I who Eloped… planned for 2 slow days… and no regrets.

We took advantage of the Hotel’s Late Check Out… had a leisurely Breakfast, and then the few hours north out of The Keys to our Airport Hotel in Miami… where we spent the day around the Pool, had a nice Lunch & Dinner… and turned in early

Up the next day at the crack of dawn, to catch our Flight to Puerto Rico… 2 more Days in San Juan, before our weeklong Caribbean Cruise

The Cruise was a nice mix of Hot & Calm as you say… but it was also busy too… getting off the ship every day in a New Port of Call to explore a new Island / Country.  So filled with adventure as well.

We always made time for some Pampering tho… a Cruise Vacation can have a nice amount of that as well… Spa Visits, Wonderful Food & Wine, Cocktails on Deck, and Late Night Theatre.  And sometimes we just sat on our balcony and stared at the horizon… the sea, the sky, the stars… it was awesome !!

    Lol… as for your Poll

    I VOTED 2x…

HOT !! Cocktails & Books a Turqouise Sea & Sandy Beach … the Wedding was stressful !!

Anywhere with Champagne & an Bedroom Ocean View is good for me !!

I personally would prefer laying on a beach, doing nothing. My DH on the other hand, couldn’t sit still to save his life. We opted for the cold/adventure honeymoond (skiing, snowmobiling, etc) and while I would have loved the beach I figured I’d go for the ski trip if it meant actually getting my DH on vacation. 😉

We went to Iceland in November, and it was an AWESOME honeymoon!

I’m pretty active, so adventure-filled is always on my list.  Our honeymoon was a “tour” we customized for ourselves, so there were definitely days we threw in there for relaxation.

@RhianfaHW:  We want a beach!  That’s probably for the best because the end of May isn’t really condusive to drinking hot chocolate!

I don’t like super cold (I see enough of that here!) but I’m not really into vacations of just sitting on the beach. I like to get out and see something/do something new every day.

Adventure, for sure. I can relax at home. You can only sit by water for so long before getting bored. You can drink cocktails and lay in bed anywhere. Sure, those resorts are nice and relaxation is great, but really, is that what you’re going to remember on your death bed, the days you spend lounging around a pool? After a day or two of that I’d be ready to get my ass up and do something. There’s so much in the world to see and do and explore. I don’t want to miss it.
