I don't know... do you have a thermometer? You could take his temperature & see if he has a fever. Is he eating and drinking like normal?
I'm not a vet & if you're ever worried you should call yours... but my dog's nose is sometimes dry & other times its slightly wet. I wouldn't really worry about it, but if you're concerned, it doesn't hurt to call :).
I'm not a vet either, but I've read that it can be normal for a dog's nose to cycle back and forth between cold/wet and warm/dry. I believe that if your dog's nose remains warm and dry for a long period of time or has scrapes or scabs on it, then they encourage you to bring him in to the vet to get checked out. If your dog has no other symptoms, I wouldn't be too worried about it, but if if would make you feel better to get him checked out, by all means, do so. Your dog is lucky to have such a loving owner!! :)
Thank Guys, He's eating and drinking fine! He is pretty lazy right now but it may just be the cold weather he doesn't want to go outside for any amount of time. But when we go to the indoor doggie park he perks right up! He is due for a rabies shot so I may just get them to look at him just in case. Paraniod momma I suppose i over think things with me three year old daughter too haha!
The hot/cold nose theory is an old wives tale. There is no scientific evidence to back this up. The only accurate way to determine a pets temperature is via using a thermometer rectally.

I have always heard if your pup has a hot nose he is sick. For a few days now usually at night, my pup's nose is dry and warm. It only lasts a few minutes then goes back to normal. He's acting ok. It is hard to tell though since we have had snow he hasnt been much on running around outside or playing anyways so he's been sleeping more. He's eating and will get up for a game of tug o war or follow the leader with my daughter when he is up for it. Do you think I need to take him to the vet since his nose is hot? I thought at first maybe he was out of water the first time it happened but he has water and food.
