I'm thinking of strapping ice packs to my thighs! lol.
I've been sweating madly just trying my dress on. I need to figure out a plan for the actual day so that I don't look red and feel miserable.
I look forward to hearing the advice of other bees on this crucial issue. (I don't think anti-perspirant will really be enough...It is hot under there!)
I found that the getting into the dress part is when I was getting all hot and sweaty, but afterwards I was ok. Granded, we lucked out and had a cooler day though! Maybe try baby poweder, and just keep some powder with you, or oil absorbing sheets to blot up the sweat on your face? You may not feel refreshed, but at least you'd look like it maybe lol
I got married in August on Maui and it was hot. The only sweating issue I had was my legs and I used baby powder to help with that. I applied it all over my legs before getting dressed, but my legs ended up get really sweaty during the pre-ceremony pictures. So much so, that I ended up just lifting my dress up between shots to get some relief. At that point, I just didn't care. I don't think I used enough baby powder for the first application. Once I got back into the limo to be taken to the ceremony site, I reapplied the baby powder and didn't have any issues after that.
I am stressed about this! June was abnormally cool in Tahoe, but now the temperature has sky-rocketed. I really don't do well in heat, and my dress is a pretty heavy satin. I'm just going to think cool and walk slow once I'm in it!
I had a very lightweight, airy gown that was perfect for high 80s in Jamaica. You should be fine! Just make sure that AC is cranked while you're getting ready ![]()
What does your dress look like now? Do you have a picture?
This is my dress--please forgive this photo. This dress has not been altered yet (it's too big as you can see), but it's SO pretty in person. I can't tell you how true that is. It's sparkle city in person...which is the main reason I bought it!
I am concerned that I will just perpspire like gangbusters with the dress and undergarments. I will try to keep my cool. I am hoping that the wind blowing off the lake will keep me from overheating during the ceremony. But when I am getting ready, the a/c will be cranked as high as it will go!
Oh I love your dress! So pretty :) My sister got married last July and it was quite warm in her reception location because there was NO A/C...I could have killed her! HAHA Anyway, you might have your MOH or BM carry in their purse or something a small handheld fan---we got ours at Walmart. It was battery operated and was bright pink and green (her colors) so it was very cute! We went into the bathroom and lifted up her dress and fanned her off for a bit HAHA funny photos as long as the panties are not in view HAHA
My cousin got married in June and she literally was applying deoderant everywhtere!!!! Us bridesmaids (not any more!!) had to put it on her back and everything!!!
Also, try your local dollar store for little hand held fans!!
That dress is beautiful on you! I love the detail along the bottom. You've got the right idea - Just keep that A/C on high & you'll be fine
what's this about baby powder? Explain!
PS: the fan thing is a great idea. we could have matching bridal party fans!
That is a gorgeous dress!
I too am concerned with a heavy dress. I'm getting married in early June in Texas- for those of you familiar with the area know the humidity can be horrendous. Fortunately it is a night wedding (7pm). I am still on the hunt for my dress, and I make sure to tell all of the ladies in the bridal shops I want material that is as light and airy as possible!
I sweat a lot so I chose a cooler month to get married. In the summer when I need to go someplace nice I do the following.
Hope that helps.
Baby powder works wonders. Also: accupuncture can help with abnormal sweating! You may want to see a licensed practitioner and see what your options are. You look so pretty in your dress.

I've been thinking about this lately...okay, obsessing, really. I am wearing a "summer weight" wedding gown (organza), but I am really concerned with overheating. I tried my dress on again two weeks ago and was already sweaty by the time I took it off. I don't want to be sweaty and hot and uncomfortable on the big day. Is this a concern for anyone else? For those of you who are already married, did you find you were hot? I just don't want to be a sweaty Betty in my photos! I've been told to apply deodorant to my thighs to keep from perspiring...it just seems pretty drastic! LOL
