. The best deal I could find was with the Hampton inn. I went with the chelsea location, but there's plenty of other locations to look into. They priced the block at $168 per night. I will be staying at the Gansevoort park, but I wanted to find the most cost effective option for my oot guests. I also used hotelplanner.com. They send out requests for you to tons of hotels in the city and get the quotes for you. The hampton inn still ended up being the cheapest, but it was helpful to see comparable options. Hope that helps! I found booking the hotel blocks to be one of the most time consuming and annoying things I've had to do thus far. Ugh.
I've never heard of hotelplanner.com. Excellent!! Very helpful, thank you!
$168 is very reasonable too.
@reneynay: wow, that's a great deal! I couldn't find ANYTHING for under $200 a night, even using hotelplanner. Turns out September is pretty much peak time for hotels rooms in NYC. We ended up getting two different Marriots in not particularly convenient loactions (one on the UES, one in the financial district) for $229/night. We have advised our guests to look by themselves too though.
Ours for August 2010 was $149/double, $159/Queen at the Radisson Lexington in Midtown near Penn Station.
We got blocks at St. Giles-Court in Murray Hill for $189-King Bed and $229-2 Double beds

Hi bees,
Where have you gotten room blocks in the city, and what kind of deals did they offer? We'd like to keep our guests in midtown. Thanks so much in advance!
