We're having our reception in a hotel ballroom and I think it's just me being a little detail crazy, but is it a big deal if the carpet doesn't match my wedding colors? I know no one pays attention to the carpet really, and it's a pretty neutral color, but I'm a little worried about making it stand out more because of my table linens or something that brings attention to it. Should I even worry about it?

It will be dark and absolutely noone will notice. They have those hideous carpet because stains don't show on them but they are really bad in the daylight, aren't they?

Usually with the lighting it won't be noticeable.

what are the colors of the carpet? Luckily my ballroom has hardwood floors, but I have somewhat ugly chairs to work with. I don't really like slip covers, so I took a picture of the fabric and I'm working with it. They are greenish patterned fabric with a brass colored frame. The close-up photos of the characteristics of the ballroom actually made it on to my inspiration board so I can make sure everything works together.

I'll include the dark green color in the flower arrangements and I'm using brass, silver, and gold throughout the reception. I'll probably have brass vases to hold flower arrangements.

It's not that bad, its like a tan with some reddish tones mixed throughout it. The chairs aren't bad at all. I really don't like chair covers, but chivalri chairs are not in my budget. The hotel is like 5 years old so everything is almost brand new and it great shape. I just need to get over it haha, I can't really change my venue now anyway!

The carpet in my ballroom has orange, brown mute hues.. tasteful- but my colors are white and green..  I am hoping it won't matter.. If I think of all the weddings I have been to, I honestly can't remember the carpets

I don't think it should be a problem. But if your concerned, you can rent rugs for important areas like under your cake table, under your table, etc. Places you think the floor might show in photos.

Most likely the carpet wont match your colors. But who is staring at the carpeting during a wedding? I doubt anyone will even notice. But if you are still worried use taller centerpieces to draw their eyes upwards away from the floor

I agree that no one will be starting at the carpet, but I also see why you are concerned.  The natural decor of the room totally affects the atmosphere of the wedding.  Even if no one is specificallly looking at the carpet, the carpet is still there.  That is why I mentioned uplighting.  It really makes the floor disappear.

Our carpet is pretty neutral but no one will notice anyway, especially with the dim lights and the alcohol! We are also having lighting so if you are really concerned, that may be a good way to go.

I do the exact same thing but it's too late now and no one will notice the carpet except us brides!

My carpet is maroon and I am going with hot pink and silver as my colours - but I think it would be more of a compromise for me to change my colours!

And anyway with all the white linens and chairs and such no one will even see the carpet!

I work for a hotel chain, and we looked at a couple for the wedding. I did ask them about the loud carpets. They said it's something that people always worry about, but it actually isn't an issue. Once all of the tables and such are in place, most of the carpet doesn't even show.
