Personally I always use third party rating sites like Trip Advisor to check out reviews for anywhere I want to go. You can also just google 'hotel name' + 'reviews'.
I live in Bluffton (the town on the mainland right next to Hilton Head) and work on the island. :) Some of the most popular places are Palmetto Dunes and the Westin, both of which are right on the beach. There are lots of beachfront resorts... Marriott's Surfwatch is another one that comes to mind. There are also LOTS of places where you can rent a place, which seems to be the most popular option. Sea Pines and Shipyard always have houses or condos to rent. That's such a sweet idea for your parents and I hope they enjoy it!
Well I'm having my wedding at the Westin, so I'm a little biased...but THE WESTIN IS AWESOME! :)

Hi ladies!
Ohio bride here... I have a question for you all.
As a gift to my parents, we'd like to treat them to a little mini trip to Hilton Head. They enjoy being down there and we thought an excuse to go sit on the beach would be a nice way for them to relax after our wedding.
Can you recommend any hotels/resorts? Preferrably on the beach. Step dad likes to golf, mom is a shopper, walks on the beach. nothing too sporty, and fairly luxurious.
Any recommendations would be great. Not being very familiar, its hard to guess just from websites. Thanks!
Happy planning!
