Hey vegas bees - I was trying to block rooms at the MGM Grand and they told me I would have to leave a deposit!  Does anyone have any advice about room blocks in Vegas - is it just impossible to do b/c there are so many hotels??

Some hotels will require a deposit to guarantee a group block in Las Vegas but others do not.  It's definitely possible to find but will take some time and research.

    Good luck!

Off the top of my head, I believe Luxor, Excalibur, and Planet Hollywood do not charge a deposit.  I'm not sure if they've gone through any changes as this was last year.

Also, check with chains such as Hampton Inn or Homewood Suites close to the strip for less cost effective options.  They may allow room blocks without a deposit.

Just let them know that you'd like for the individual guests to call in their own reservations.

    I hope that helps!

Excaliber doesn't charge a deposit.. and it's just across the street from the MGM. Also, the Rio doesn't charge, but it's off the strip.

Thank you so very much guys - sorry it has taken me so long to respond!  I actually called PH and Excalibur and I think we'll be blocking rooms at both of those hotels since we have a few who want to stay at Excalibur due to the prices ($36 per night weekdays - can't beat that!)

@greenorchid - your work is beautiful!

the new PH Towers (www.phtowers.com) do not require a deposit either.  check them out, only opened about a month ago. :)
