More advice needed please! I'd love to be able to get a hotel suite for the night before the wedding to stay in/get ready in with my bridesmaids, and then stay in the night of the wedding with my then-husband (!!). I'm getting married in the Somerville/Cambridge area and would really like to stay over there (not in Boston). Any recommendations on places with nice suites for around/less than $300?? Thanks!!

A few hotels in Cambridge that are really nice are the Royal Sonesta, Le Meridien, The Charles hotel, Hotel Marlowe - what time of year are you getting married?

Thanks for the recommendations happilywaiting! My wedding is the last weekend in June.

I was disappointed when I checked out Royal Sonesta and found out their suite only has 1 king bed and no pull-out couch or anything! It only sleeps two, how sad. I need a place that sleeps 3-4.  :)

I've been checking out those other places too and they seem more expensive but funner (haha) anyway. I'm kind of hesitant on spending so much money on a room but I figure I'm only going to get this chance once--and I want a nice place to get ready in! Have you been to any other those other hotels you mentioned? Hotel Marlowe seems so awesomely funky :)

I've stayed at the Marlowe a number of times -- it's awesome. I can't think of a better place to spend my wedding night with friends! It would also be a great backdrop for pictures, not only in the rooms, but also in the sitting room in the lobby downstairs.

The Marlowe is really cool, I've been to Le Meridien (I think it used to be the Hotel @ MIT) & they are actually renovating right now & will be finished at the end of March. It's a really cool hotel too so I think after the reno it will be amazing. The Charles is more "traditional" but also beautiful and they have some great restaurants there (Henrietta's Table & Rialto).

Id have to recommend Hotel Marlowe, its a Kimpton Hotel.  I think they are in a great location, their staff is uber accomodating and their restaurant downstairs is yummy!  :)

How about The Inn at Harvard? Charles Hotel has already been mentioned and close to Harvard Yard (fabulous photos!!), as well as super swanky. Love Henrietta's Table. My mother also once stayed at the Hotel @ MIT (someone mentioned this as well - Le Meridien) and it was quirky and fun.

It's definitely not as fancy as the other mentioned places, but if cost is an issue you could look at the Doubletree Soldier's Field just across the river from Harvard.  I really like Doubletree suites and the service is generally great.  I don't know exactly where you are getting married, but hotels on soldier's field are very accessible to Cambridge (actually possibly even more so than locations near Harvard or Kendall's Sq. b/c less small streets and traffic).  B/c the entire area is expensive, I suspect it might still run you $200+, but probably much cheaper than the, for example, the Charles.

(but BTW, I love the restaurant at the Hotel Marlowe.  My friends got married there and they do the catering...so good, and they took me with them for their tasting!)

You could also try the Liberty Hotel - it is right across the river (at Charles/MGH) and is verrry nice and I bet they could accomodate you.

I stayed at a suite at Le Meridien for my wedding.  It was great-- there was room for me, my 4 bridesmaids, and various other family members to all get hair and makeup done.  It can be a bit pricey, but we were able to get our suite for $309 a night.

Hyatt Regency Cambridge is also in that area.
