We're having trouble finding a hotel venue (where we can hold the ceremony, reception and sunday brunch) in San Francisco that is going to fall within our budget.  Most I've found is going to cost us both our limbs.  In any event, we're hoping to find something that is classic looking, that includes catering and some decorating, that has the ceremony location separate from the reception area, that will allow a small party of 50-60 people.  And... is okay with having a NYE wedding.  And does not charge more than $100 per person.  Any ideas appreciated.  Thanks to Crebre, I'm also entertaining a Bed & Breakfast venue.   We'd prefer San Francisco, but open to Berkeley, Oakland, and even futher East.  Thank you.

I don't know what their prices are like, but if you're open to the East Bay you might check out the Bellevue Club (http://www.bellevueclub.org/). We're using them just for guest rooms for family since we live nearby, but they took me on a little tour of the banquet and ceremony areas, which were pretty and classic, and they're redoing all of the flooring and upholstery this spring. I have no idea what their food is like, though, and you do have to use the in-house caterer. It's on the shores of Lake Merritt near Grand Lake Theater and overlooks the lake. They have some info posted on their website, but also worth calling their events manager, who was super open to working alternate arrangements out.

Another option in that vein but less under the radar is the Berkeley City Club in Downtown Berkeley, which is basically the same deal---I've never been but I hear it's really beautiful. Downside is that it's pricier, I think. Both are 1920s era spaces. The Claremont Hotel in Oakland also does weddings, but based on the room prices I have to imagine they're pretty pricey on all fronts....

The Claremont Hotel is not too bad.  I actually just received a proposal from them.  They're actually perfect.  I had forgotten about the Claremont Hotel.  As a child, I went there a few times for events and fell in love with that place.  I didn't think wedding at that time, I would always tell my grandmother I wanted to have my princess birthday party there or my sweet 16.  LOL!!  Thank you oakster for the information!

@ms.snuggie - You might also look at Hotel Shattuck in Berkely, or some of the smaller, boutique hotels in the city.  Some of the Joie de Vivre properties or Kimpton properties might be less pricey.

Thanks Mhirini.  I've actually submitted RFPs to the Kimpton properties and received some awesome proposals.  I'll look into the Joie de Vivre properties.  Again, thank you all for the feedback.

I attended a wedding at the City Club of San Francisco. The venue is beautiful and so was the service. I dont know much about cost but you can contact and see if they fit your budget. Here's the link: http://www.cityclubsf.com/index.html

    Hi,

Hope you found a place by now.  These places are under (around) $100 for dinner 3-course meal and they are nice/modern hotels that i personally approve.

    Marriot San Mateo

    Marriot San Francisco Airport

    Westin SF Airport

Crown Plaza SFO (that's definiately on the lower end price range and negotiable, but the ballroom doesn't look "Grand" at all) It's modern but like more suitable for fancy birthday party or anniversary party.

DO NOT GO TO HILTON by SF AIRPORT - their ballroom looks as bad as Clarion Hotel (low end hotel) and their bathroom looks like a high school stall.  The lady who was showing us around did not seem helpful either tho she is nice, she didn't care to spend much time with us except "here it is" and we were done in 15min, where as other hotel managers took like an hour explaining their packages, what they can or cannot do for us, etc.

The other hotels are NICE, nice cartering manager to work with.
