$99 for a hotel room with breakfast is not very expensive in my opinion, and having breakfast included is a nice thing. People will probably spend more than $20.00 on breakfast for the morning if they have to leave to hotel and go to a restaurant (even if you just get coffees you can potentially spend 10 bucks if you go somewhere like starbucks)
i think it depends on the area - my rooms are $119 per night and thats after me negotiating, you cant get cheaper than that in williamsburg during labor day weekend without having to stay at a roach motel.
so is that cheap for your area and time or no? it sounds reasonable for me - most hotel rooms arent less than $100 anyway...
It's kind of relative because it's significantly cheaper than the closet hotel to the reception venue which is easily $200/night.
Since we are looking to hire a bus, we have a larger area and I could get a Radisson for $79 but it's in a slightly shady area and not as coll inside.
For what it offers, I think $99 is a great deal and $10 for breakfast per person is completely reasonable - I don't need convincing, I just need reassuring that as a guest you'd feel the same way. I also emailed a handful of actual guests to see if they would be interested to stay there.
Looking forward to more feedback!
It sounds reasonable to me. We are getting married at an inn which includes breakfast in their room rates. It's about $100 (Canadian) for a regular room and $120 for a small suite.
Depends on where it is. If I can get $99/nt with breakfast in NYC, heck yeah I'll take that!
But either which way it's in my nature to shop around for the best deal anyway.
I would ask what kind of breakfast you are getting with that? I mean it's $20 more per room for breakfast. If it's continental breakfast you might be better offering arranging a separate brunch option outside of the hotel.
$99 doesn't sound like too much to me, but if I could get the same room without breakfast for $79, I'd do that. I'd want to be at the same hotel as everyone, but am not too worried about breakfast. I mean, if I have a really great time at the wedding, I won't even be up in time for breakfast!
Our rooms are $99/night with breakfast and I think its a really good deal. I went to a wedding in Richmond and had to pay $140 and that did not include breakfast and that was the best deal around

I didn't know where to put this post but since it has to do with breakfast, I went with food. I need some opinions. A little bit of background. Half of our guests will need to travel (most via plane) to the wedding, the church and reception venue are about an hour's drive away from each other. There are no large, affordable hotels near the reception venue. As such, we decided it would be best to find an affordable hotel in the middle between the two and rent a bus to provide transportation.
So, we found a hotel with a fun bar (after party) and unique decor almost exactly in the middle. They are offering a block rate of $79 per room with 1 king bed which seems pretty good to me. However, we wanted a hotel with breakfast so everyone could get together one last time for Sunday morning breakfast. The hotel will add breakfast vouchers to the rooms for a total of $99 per room per night. I have no idea how much breakfast normally costs as they do not have a menu online but the restaurant has recieved good reviews on tripadvisor.com. I thought $10 per person (assuming double occupancy) for breakfast was not so bad but FI thinks this is pretty expensive and suggests we skip breakfast.
I see that the rooms can be reserved online for $79 right now and worry that people will go outside of the room block if they find a cheaper rate which would defeat the purpose of breakfast and leave me stuck covering 80% of the rooms in our block.
As a hotel guest who has to fly to a wedding (possibly across the Atlantic), would you be willing to pay $99 per night for a hotel with breakfast? Would you shop around to see if you can get a better rate?
