When you show people that picture 20 years from now, and when you look back on it yourself, what do you think you'll prefer?
If I love two things equally, I try to think about which one I'm more likely to love in the future. On the wedding dress issue, I try to think about FI's tastes as well, since he's the one I want to wow the most.
Yeah do you have pics! I have an hourglass figure (well, maybe more of a pear!) as well...much bigger in hips than bust, and mine is a dropped waist A-line. Tight through the hips but then flows out.
@love108: Not of me in the dress :(they didn't allow it, but I posted the designer and dress styles in the initial post if you would like to look them up :)
@mkathleenwhit thank you for posting the pic! I can't seem to do it through my iPad :/
@HappierKate: Thats exactly what I'm trying to figure out! Which do you think is more timeless?
Sorry that last pic posted twice, lol my laptop is PMSing right now and is a bit moody. I like them both but I think that the second dress would really show off your figure :)
I like the second one! It's hard to tell not actually seeing you in it, but if you have an hour glass shape, you have to show it off! I have an hour glass shape and while I looked good in most shapes, I felt the best in something that showed off my body a bit more. :) good luck!
Ummm the second one!!! (Martina Liana 396) I have been on a dress hunt FOREVER and have tried on a zillion dresses. I put this one and it just said YES YES YES! The designer pic doesn't even do it justice! I BOUGHT IT! It is still flowy and romantic I would say......... it just has a more sophisticated waist. I am also having an extremely large church/ballroom wedding and this dress is just perfect!!! I am just altering the neckline a little bit to make it a little more sweatheart and I added a different sash (with some bling) to give it some elegance!

Without pictures of it on you, it's hard to say for sure, but as a general rule, if you are bigger on the bottom than on the top, you should choose gowns that will emphasize your bust and waist, not your hips, so that means usually not fitted through the hips, but each body is different. I'd suggest A-line or ball gown.
Wow! It looks awesome with that belt! I'm really thinking its going to be that one lol. I got butterflies looking at it again, that must mean something!

I went dress shopping for the first time today. And after looking through hundreds of gowns online and saving them in a binder for when I went shopping, I ended up trying on dresses that I hadn't even considered! Ay.
Anywho, now I'm torn!
I have an hourglass figure, a bit smaller on top, defined waist, and some junk in the trunk, lol. I tried on two completely different styles....and I loved them both! One is flowwy and romantic (Martina Liana 377) and the other is form-fitting and sexy (Martina Liana 396).
So the question is....which should I choose?? Our wedding is in November, church wedding and reception in a huge ballroom, with about 400 guests.
