I looked into student photographers and 2 of the ones I talked to wanted 300 and 500 dollars for the whole day!
Make sure you ensure this is OK with your pro photog before you tell him you will do it - because I remember reading in my contract that he will be the ONLY photographer "officially" taking pics of the wedding!

My MOH's sister's boyfriend is a beginning photographer. He is going to school for it now, and he wants to get into shooting weddings. My MOH asked if he could shoot our wedding to get some pictures for his portfolio. We had already hired a photographer when she asked, but I thought I would see if we needed extra coverage etc. so he could have some pictures for his portfolio.
So we are trying to figure out what we should pay him, should we decided to do this. What is a good hourly rate for a beginning photographer who has no wedding experience?
Thanks Hive!
