Laurenplusalex:  Ugh, we have been looking since September 2013. We have only made 1 offer and lost it by $1500!! So far, the inventory out here is just awful. I’m really hoping things will start picking up soon, I’m losing faith that we will find something at all!

Good luck to you though!

Just want to say good luck!  House hunting was an exhausting process, so I get how you’re feeling.  Your dream house will crop up soon though!

We are looking to upgrade and it’s definitely a seller’s market where we live. We will make a ton when we sell, but we won’t have anywhere to go, lol. Everything is overpriced and people are paying it because almost nothing is for sale. I’m finding it annoying to say the least.

Laurenplusalex:  In Toronto. Definitely a seller’s market here as well. We are lucky if something comes up in our price range and then even luckier if we get the chance to see it before it’s sold 🙁 Definitely annoying!

Laurenplusalex: Wishing you luck!

We are not technically house hunting anymore because we are building. But we just moved into the final phase of construction and have a closing date of June 18, so we are excited!

Laurenplusalex:  When you mentioned HGTV, I wanted to cry, lol. The prices of houses in some states versus where I live in Canada is depressing. I could buy a mansion in some states versus the modest home I will end up with here.

I wish I could sell now, have a super long closing, and buy when it’s advantageous to, lol.

We’ve been looking since November and we finally found a house!! We put in an offer on Monday and it was accepted yesterday!! Now we have to get the contract to the 2 lenders we’re looking at and see who can give us the best rate. The seller agreed to pay closing costs and prepaids so it really only comes down to which lender has the better interest rate. If the home inspection goes well, we will close on May 30th!!!!

We were so happy to find a house we loved that wasn’t a short sale!!!

Laurenplusalex:  Yay for y’all!!

We’ve been looking since January and aren’t finding ANYTHING. We live near Boston and inventory is so low and prices are skyrocketing. They are selling these houses for over half a million dollars and they are just DUMPS. We have really lowered our expectations given the market but we can’t find anything. It’s really dejecting. We have outgrown our rental and need SFH with a yard for our dog and for privacy. It just stinks 🙁
