Um, YES! I had termites in my college apartment and it was Hell for almost 2 weeks. The gas and stuff will be fine. We just packed our stuff away, stripped the beds, etc.
What kind of termites do you have? We had the little flying black ones that looked like small flying ants. It was so gross. Ew...I don't wish that upon anyone. Good luck with everything. It's not fun.
I'm so sorry that you have to deal with that! I have never had termites before. Honestly, I would probably take all the open food out of there but I'm just really nervous about things like that!
@FutureMissMartin, thanks! It does suck!! Thankfully the landlord is covering the hotel cost.. as he should!
@EAQ - These are huge ones with red heads and long gray wings. So nasty!!!! Stripping the beds is a good idea!!

So, tomorrow the fi and the two cats and I are off to a hotel for two nights.. Our new rental house is infested with termites so the owner has decided to tent and gas the house. Has anyone had this done before? I'm kind of afraid of lethal gas being pumped into our house, and we have to pack up all of our foods and medicines in gas-proof bags.. Yuck!! Anybody else been through this?
