How many pets, and how hard are they to take care of? Do they have to be there every minute of the whole weekend, or can they come and go?

Most places around here charge around $15-20 just for one visit, so I’d think at leat $50/day if you’re expecting them to stay there most of the time. Are they staying overnight too?

@outgoingcutie15:  I would say $100-$200. I know it seems like a lot, but for six dogs, one of which needs a pill every 3 hours, it seems pretty fair.

$100-200 for the weekend, not per day. Sorry!

We paid a house sitter $20 per day for two cats And house sitting. She was a friend though, an. I believe her normal going rate is $20 for the first pet, $15 for each additional and an extra change for special needs like giving meds.

I cat sit for a friend of my mom’s. She has 3 cats and she lets me stay at her house while she is gone. The last time I cat sit for her for a week and a half she paid $200. That covered gas and the rest was mine to keep. Not too bad considering I considered it a mini-vacation for myself. 🙂

My friend does it for my mom with one lab. She loves to get out of her moms house where is is living and she is not a professional sitter, but with an easy dog she gets paid about $20 a day and my mom stocks the fridge with food for her and her son to eat. (even prepacks salads for lunch)

I used to get paid $70/day to watch two dogs and stay at the house with them (one needed medication once a day). I would say you should pay at least that. If someone has to be at your house practically all day (I’m assuming there aren’t many hours between the 3 doses of medication, they’ll probably have to miss work and spend all day at your house.

I pay $50/day for inhouse pet sitting. I have one low maintenance dog (very low maintenance, she is even litter trained!).

We dog sat for our neighbors for a little less than a week. We spent the night at their house and took care of their 1 yellow lab with no medical issues. They paid us $75/day.
