We're going to Costa Rica! I'm so excited. I've never been and it looks so beautiful.
I'm hoping for Great Britain, but we'll see!
FI still doesn't have a passport!
I got a passport a year ago and it took about six weeks. Of course, you'd probably prefer FI to take care of that several months before the wedding!
Yep. I've been bugging him for the last 3 years to get his passport! At least he got is birth certificate.
We are going to the Excellence Resort in Playa Mujeres! I wasn't sure that I wanted to go to Mexico since I have been several times before but the short flight from Houston made it the best option for us. I can't wait :)
Hi all!
We're hoping to do a Rome, Paris, London thingy...did any of y'all go through a travel agency or did you plan everything yourselves?
lampshade127 - I've heard wonderful things about Playa Mujeres!
kujhawk04 - we planned it ourselves. The reviews on tripadvisor.com were really helpful when deciding on where to stay.
My husband and I went to Ireland for our honeymoon, with a day-long layover in Paris. We loved it so much, we went back to Dublin for our 1st anniversary!
We were hoping for Costa Rica, but have decided to take the {free} offer from a family member for a place in Key West for a week. I am excited to go fishing in Key West. :)
I know Costa Rica will still be there in a year...sigh.
We went to Vegas and loved it! Good food, good shows, great shopping and a very nice hotel. We got a great deal with MGM and Continental has a direct flight from Houston to Vegas that was quite affordable.
i'm not getting married in houston but i feel like a houston bride (we lived there before moving to sweden and that is where everything is being ordered-dress, std's, invites, etc) and there isn't an italy or sweden bride group :)
we are honeymooning in Ponza, Italy...apparently it is considered the "insider's" Capri. my lovely and generous FIL are planning it for us. i am so excited!!!
We have less than a week. So we'll be staying in Texas. We are spending a few days in the Texas Hill Country (at the Marriott Resort) and then a few days in San Antonio on the River Walk
We wanted to stay in the US so we are going to Cali. We both love going there, and there is so much we want to do when we go, so we'll be going there :) We're so excited and can't wait!
@MissDane~We totally accept you as a Houston Bride (:
We're going to Disneyworld!
We opened a joint account for our wedding that is a Disney rewards card, so all of our wedding purchases earns disney dollars for us to use during our trip.
There is also a volunteer program going on that if you volunteer one day in 2010 you get free admission to one of the parks. So we are also planning on doing that as well!
@sumokitty That is so cool! My husband is always wanting to go to Disney, we might have to do that. I bet it's an interesting experience volunteering at the park.
I like the volunteering at Disney idea. We will be heading to Colombia to spend some time with FI's family and introduce my family to his, since his family won't be able to make it here for the wedding. We'll spend a week in Medellin (and maybe Cartagena) with them and then we are off to San Andres for a week to ourselves. I can't wait!
not quite a houston bride here, but austin is close, right? :)
like Nanner22, we only have a few days for our honeymoon. we decided to go to santa fe and stay at a cute inn not far from the plaza. i basically looked at a map of where southwest flies and tried to find a location that was less than two hours away! we also considered new orleans, but santa fe was much cheaper in the winter.
Well, we're not going to Ireland any more. After the Christmas bombings, I started to think a cruise might be better. Out of Galveston--no flying. Or even Miami--only domestic flying. But alas, we're flying to London to take a northern European cruise to Scandanavia & St. Petersburg. Very excited!!
i wouldn't be worried about bombings on flights. first of all, there were no bombings on christmas - only a failed attempt. second, out of thousands and thousands of flights every day, that's been the biggest terrorism-like incident on a US flight in nearly seven years! northern euorpe is beautiful and hopefully you'll get to spend some time in london on your way in and out. have fun!
I was never worried about being bombed--just the additional hassles that the attempt has created.
my dream honeymoon would be to go to petit saint vincent but i think we are gonna go to Azul All Inclusive a hotel by Karisma in Mayan Rivera
We are going on a 7 day cruise to the Caribbean :] Jamaica, The Grand Caymans and Cozumel :] Can't wait!!!
we are going to Playa del Carmen in Mexico!
it's super fun, cuz I have no clue on what we'll be doing. . . my fiance is planning the whole thing :)
We are going to Sandals Regency St. Lucia! We are staying in the Water's Edge and Millionaire Suites while we are there. February 2011!!! It is going to be such a long wait!
