I also have a pickup skirt, but I have yet to start my alterations (eek - mental note, start!). I think I want to have it bustled so it just looks like pickups all around - I think that's basically what the picture shows. So.. hmmm, sorry, I'm not much help! Hopefully I'll meet with my tailor soon and maybe I'll have some more ideas for you then!

i got an email from Leanna the alterationist of the above bustle, and she stated that most of her brides with this type of train prefer a french bustle.
i like that bustle, too. just not sure what it would look like. there is a surprising lack of pictures of pickup style trains bustled!
I agree! I have looked around before and not found much... hmmm french bustle...I forget what that is. Google to the rescue :)
Here is a more simple way to bustle a gown like that. It looks more billowy, and not so bunchy like the pic above. (I used to work in bridal) Hope it helps. 
OK, I can't resize this damn thing enough to show the directions:
Bustle 1--Bustle #3 to #1.
Bustle 2- Bustle #4 to match the hem of the front of the gown.
Bustle 3 & 4- Bustle #5 and #6 the same as Bustle 2. It keeps the sides off the floor.
My dress has pick ups & I'll be doing the french bustle. It just looks so much fancier than the regular bustle.

I just ordered my dress this past Saturday and have been online hunting for bustle options for my pickup train.
Here's the back of my dress:
the only pic I have ran across that shows my type of train bustled is this below.....and i'm not in love.....

anyone with pictures of pickup style trains bustled? preferably in a different style from the one above.....
For those with pick up trains? How are you bustling?
