Ours were completely accurate. We didn't have anyone show up who hadn't RSVPed and everyone who RSVPed showed up.
We had one person not show, and one extra person show up, so we broke even!
Wow! I really hope that happens with our wedding too! Thanks for sharing!
@hermitcrab: The person who just showed up- did they rsvp no or not rsvp at all? That is so brazen!
At my first wedding, we had 72 people RSVP yes. One person bought a friend instead of his date, which was NOT okay, and 2 peoole didn't show. One forgot, and one was too busy and only his wife came.
We had approximately 195 people RSVP yes. Approximately 18 of them did not show up, and two who were not invited did.
@Phofe2774: Most caterers plan to feed 3-5% over and it's already in the cost. The big problem is if every table already has the max number of seats at it.
We didn't have anyone that showed up that said no. Although, we had 1 phone us the Monday before our wedding to tell us they had decided to hope on a plane after all to come....
We did have about 5 people who said yes and didn't show. They were mostly the kids of the couples we invited. So we were pretty annoyed since we already felt it was nice of us to invite their kids in the first place (non family members).
@GreenEyedMoon: omg!! did you ever get explanations why?
PS this threat is freaking me out lol
@GreenEyedMoon: 2 people not invited came to your wedding?! OMG! Were they a couple that crashed, did you know them? Or were they guests of others? That is crazy! How did you handle it? MY FI insists that people are going to bring other people.
@Ms. Meowerson: I guess that was sort of misleading - the extra person turned out to be my aunt's aid, and I counted her because she sat at a table and ate a meal, so it counted in our total. Wasn't so bad actually!
Our RSVPs were only off by two guests, but those two still let me know ahead of time that they weren't able to make it anymore, so we didn't have any surprises.
@brenda.m.fields: My caterer did tell me that and that she has never ran out of food so I am ok with food. Plus I have used her a lot for work events and I know she always has a ton of food leftover! But the space only seats 150 and we are already over inviting so if people randomly show up, like my FI swear s will happen, we will have no place for the last people in the door to sit.

How many guests said they were coming and then did not show? Were your RSVP's accurate or way off? I'm trying to prepare myself for the reality of all of this, if that is at all possible! :)
