Ok all you loyal bee readers, I'm looking for some veil advice. I'm getting married at the end of May 2009, and I bought my dress at a sample/once-wed store back in June. At the time, I was not really concerned with a veil, I figured I'd order it at my first dress fitting in March. However, a co-worker mentioned that it takes a few months for a veil to arrive after placing an order. So, I think I need to buy one sooner than that so I can have it for hair trials, fitting, etc. I live in the Chicago area and I'm looking for a long veil. I really like the Lori London cathedral-length fountain veil because of the way it frames a bride's face, but I don't know if I'll love the price of it. I only plan to wear it for the ceremony and have hard time spending $400 on something that I'll only wear once and for two hours. Can anyone suggest good places to shop for a veil in Chicago or online? I've seen that Izaac Mizrahi for Target makes a veil that's only $24.99, has anyone bought this or seen it in person? Any help is greatly appreciated - thanks!!!
You should try ebay! I didn't get my veil yet, but a few of my friends have purchased theirs on ebay for under $20. Can't beat that! Just do a search and see what you come up with. Even if you buy a few "samples" to see what you like best if better than spending $400 on 1. Then if the sellers don't accept returns, you can just turn around and sell the ones you bought and didn't use. I know it sounds timely but its worth it! Good Luck!
if you are crafty or talented at all, you can always make one. they dont take much to do so. buy the tulle (make sure you have the bridal tulle), buy the pattern, and cut it out. im doing that...just had a friend hem the bottom so it looked finished. she did this on her surger and took all but a few minutes.
