Ugh - it was a VERY stressful weekend in my house.

First thing that happened: FSIL texts me saying she has some issues and to call her ASAP.  I call and find out that #1 FBIL (FI's bro) doesn't have a black suit like he said he did - he has a charcoal gray one.  Is that ok?  Issue #2 in the same phone call.  I had ordered their son who is going to be the ring bearer a suit a few months back.  When it got to their house FSIL was concerned it would be too small so sent it back to exchange it for the next size.  Well I guess she never got the second package.  So I am in the middle of trying to deal with the company right now seeing if they ever mailed the second package.

Ok, moving on to Saturday. I drive to my seamstresses house for my fitting.  I get there and she looks very confused.  Says my appointment is for the next day (UGH - I KNOW it was for Saturday I remember talking about it with her!!).  On the way home my future step daughter complains that her head has been itching a LOT for the past few weeks.  Get her home, have my FI look at her head - yep - she has LICE!!

    AAAAHHHHHHH!!!

So I did probably 20 loads of laundry this weekend and had to make sure MY kids didn't get lice too.

    Ugh.  Overall?  CRAPPY weekend.  :(

Hope everyone else had a better one.

Agh! Lice! Oh no! My FSS got it like 4 times at his daycare. Needless to say he doesn't go there anymore. Yucky and not fun to deal with all the laundry, etc, I totally agree!!! sorry you had such a craptastic weekend.

I have a bit of a ball of stress sitting in the pit of my stomach, but I know what I have left to do is only going to take me a couple days and it's no big deal. It's FI's stuff that's stressing me out. He needs to get barnboard for the table top/centrepieces (uber important and we don't have one piece yet), his suit hasn't arrived from Hong Kong, no booze yet, and the Winnebago isn't fixed. ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm trying to stay calm. Trying to stay calm. Oh and we haven't done our prenup yet. Crap. Off to call the lawyer now. I can't believe we're like two and a half weeks away!!!

I'm super annoyed at our event coordinator. I emailed her Tuesday about some last minute stuff, followed up on Wednesday and called on Thursday and left a message. NEVER heard back. Not an out-of-office message in sight.

I'm sitting on my hands trying to wait till after lunch today to call YET AGAIN because I'm assuming she was on vacation. I just hate that I have no idea IF she really was of if she's just ignoring my emails.

Regardless it seems like someone would be handling her work when she was gone - so unprofessional. No way I'd deal with this if it weren't for my wedding.

After spending a really relaxing weekend in Catalina, the second we stepped on the boat to come back home the stress levels completely sky rocketed...

Last night we got the timeline down, completed most of our seating chart... there will be some people moved around. But for the most part it is good.

There are still people who have not RSVP'ed... I am super angry with them all!

Tomorrow is FI and my 3 year anniversary and 1 year engagement anniversary.  I am feeling a little blue today... not sure why... maybe it is the entire mountain of stuff that I have on my to do list.

Ugh - I feel your pain with the RSVP's - our response deadline is this Wednesday (8/25) and we are still missing quite a few!  I'm going to give people until the 30th then start hounding them!

I am also feeling the stress....our RSVP date is tomorrow and we're missing about 45 responses, we don't have table numbers, menus, or escort cards, I have to finish my bridesmaids' gifts (FI hasn't even started the groomsmen's gifts)...and I am freaking out about how to dance to our first dance song! waah I just want to wake up and be on our honeymoon :)

We shipped out all our wedding stuff this morning (live in Boston, getting married in San Diego!). THat's pretty much forced us to have everything done pretty far ahead of time, so I'm feeling pretty good at the moment. Need to finish a couple of escort cards (writing in the table #s the week before the wedding), need to write my vows, and pack. Once we get to San Diego in a week, we have to make a few of the centerpieces, get organized, and trandport everything to the venue. I think we're in pretty good shape.

I'm feeling pretty good right now. We had a shower on Friday, and I got all the thank you cards written and in the mail. And I just sent the wedding party the day-of itinerary so everyone knows where to be and when. I have to call the baker tomorrow to finalize the flavors and cake size and get the final catering contract in next week. Final fitting is Saturday. I think the only DIY left is to make the centerpieces - we're doing potted florals, so it basically entails going to the Home Depot, buying some flower plants, wrapping the pots and tying a ribbon. Pretty simple (I hope).

Stressing. We got the marriage license paperwork in today (3 day waiting period)... I have to hope it stops raining so I can finish DIYing the trellises for the ceremony, order the pew bows for the rows of chairs, call the city to see if we can get into the park a half hour early, call the chair rental place to see if they can take 10 chairs off of our previous order and refund the difference, also to see if they can show up at 2:30 instead of 3... confirm with the gm of the hotel that my guests can arrive before the 3pm check-in, oh and our rsvp deadline is tomorrow and we're still waiting on a few... manicure/pedicure with mom on Saturday along with eyebrow threading, then shower is Sunday and dress fitting is Monday. PHEW!

I'm with you goldilocks - feeling pretty good.  My to do list this week also includes a call to carl, the baker as well.  I have to finish printing out our signage and then mail it, along with everything else I've accumulated, to WI.  Still working out seating arrangements/escort cards, but that'll get done as soon as I have the final head count (my mom is tracking down the last 2 people who haven't responded, thanks mom!).  Other than that I've just got to verify our honeymoon flight and hotel reservations.  Anyone else feel a little surreal that the "big day" is almost here (finally!)?

Overall I'm feeling pretty good, but as I sit here, I began thinking I really do have a bunch of little things left to do.  I have always been a procrastinator; however, with planning this wedding I have been on top of it all...until now.  I seem to just push off all those little things.  Oh well, it will get done...I guess I work well under pressure :)

@joannet123: Just wait until you are down to 2 weeks!

I am just stressed...my job is demanding and my damn boss has not cut me any slack so I am trying to wrap up a big project this week. She also has me running a meeting tomorrow night so I will be staying late on my birthday! I felt so bad because I told FI this evening and he had secretly made dinner reservations that we have to cancel. I told him to just not make more dinner reservations because we are so broke, but he wants to take me out Friday.

The wedding feels surreal, but my Mom will be here in a week! Just trying to tie up some loose ends now.

FI's suit showed up today. Without the shirt. And for some reason he won't put it on to see if it fits or if it needs to go to the tailor for adjustments. ACK!!!!!

We had a problem with the RSVP's too and im sure some of you have seen my rants in past posts ;-) But i finally just marked them out- i figured if they didn't get back to us by now they don't care and obviously aren't coming!

We have 10 toppers and we will have one table that only 6 people are at and one that is just 8 people- so we will have some table openings if people show up -but it's annoying!

Im so anxious to get home and for it to be the week of the wedding!!!

I just got FI to put the suit on. It's CLEARLY not what we asked the tailor in Hong Kong to make. Not even close. Thank goodness it's still a nice looking suit, but he's really disappointed. That sucks big time.

I spent the day with FI's mom. Didn't get anything wedding related done. Awesome.

I had what was supposed to be my final dress fitting, but my dress is still too big. I'm going on Friday to hopefully take it home!

We finally got my FI's ring picked up today and a bunch of other last minutey things. No one is getting back to me about if they're coming to the rehearsal dinner and it's stressing me right out! Why can't people respond!!

@toothfairyb: Wicked. Granted, I did do a pre-invite "here's the time and date, tell me if you can show up" email, so maybe people think they've already RSVP'ed?! Ugh. There are supposed to be 28 of us showing up, so you know, it would be nice and all... Plus I put a buttload of work into the invites so a little "Hey! Those were awesome!" would also be appreciated. Unfortunately I've learned that people don't give a crap but I'm trying to not be in that mind frame.

im starting to stress out. i picked up my dress from the cleaners today - had it pressed and cleaned (lipstick mishap during bridal portrait shoot) and then i found out today that my aunt is pissed she cant bring her 13 year old son to the wedding ( no one under 21 allowed) so shes trying to talk my GRANDMA into boycotting my wedding. - really who does that!?

one of FH's groomsmen has bowed out of the wedding. kinda knew it was gonna happen though - since he didnt return his RSVP or get sized for his tux....

finally got final counts for guests - got final bill for food and booze (OUCH) and finished the table assignments.

    had dance lessons as well....

im seriously so done. can it be sept 4th yet?

@jaylii9: I feel you on the work thing. My job is super crazy right now and I'm trying to get stuff done for when I'll be off next week.

PLUS my freelance business has just recently picked up a lot and I'm trying to keep up with that - although I did have to turn down some work yesterday.

I got a call at 4:30 yesterday to design an invite needed by 12:00 today. PASS! I had all my projects for the evening planned and couldn't see giving them up for a last minute thing.

Was doing well until I talked to my florist. I ordered silk flowers she told me they would be done like a month in advance and today she tells me she still hasn't started them. I asked her when they would be done and she said she doesn't know, she couldn't really tell me. THE WEDDING IS A WEEK AWAY !!!!

Sorry girls just had to vent.

It sounds like everyone is really stressed out!

So here is some advice! RELAX! everything will work its self out. and if something isn't absolutely as you expected/wanted it to be, you will be the only one who notices!

That said... realize that everything will not be perfect. something will go wrong. But chances are you will not remember it in 20 year, heck you won't remember it in 5, and if you do... what a great story!! your grandkids will love hearing about how granny's hair was died blue the day before her wedding, and it was so hot the cake melted right off the table!

    REMEMBER 1 THING-

you will not remember the day, but you will remember how you felt! So get excited and start enjoying everything. Laugh at yourself and the fact that your wedding planner awall!

If anyone needs some perspective feel free to vent to me I can do my best to help any and all panicked brides! I had my moment a few weeks ago before making this realization

@Miss Red Velvet: I have the opposite problem, I have questions for my caterer ... and apparently he is away until September 7 :( His chef wasn't too helpful. So I'm just a sitting bride until he gets back.

@septcabride: I hear you! FH and I had a long talk on the way back to the cottage that I now need him to make the wedding a priority. The long weekend (next weekend) is when they shut down the cottage, and I mentioned at the beginning of the summer that FILs weren't going to be able to count on FH to be around to help out. Not only is it two weeks before the wedding, it is also my 25th birthday. Sure enough, there is still a lot of running around to do and I need his help on Sunday but he feels he should go to the cottage to help shut it down. I think he understands he needs to stay in the city. FFIL said if he needed help, he could hire one of the guys on the lake.

Overall, things are going well. I'm distracted by FHs birthday (Tuesday) and my own birthday next weekend (Saturday), which offers a nice distraction.

We hit a snafu with my wedding band, that wasn't really anyones fault, but the jewellery store had to remake it from scratch ... so that won't be back until next week, and hopefully it is perfect.

The DJ hasn't responded to my email from earlier in the week, so I'll be calling him tomorrow.

I need to really really do a timeline for the reception for the MCs this week. And make a list of all the last little doodads that need to get picked up.

I highly recommend some pre-wedding yoga for those of you who are getting down to the wire.  I went tonight and it did WONDERS for my mental state.

Interesting side note - at the end of class, the (married) woman next to me complimented me on my ring.  When I told her that I was getting married next weekend and a bit stressed, she said, "I get that.  But just wait, next week you'll be married!  And then the hard work will start."

Hmm.  I have been thinking a lot about that since class.  And, you know what?  She's right.  I need to stop stressing about the already-planned-to-death big day and just breathe.  Because cultivating a loving, life-long relationship is just so much more important.
