oooooooh i hope my post will make you feel better!!
i have my venues (ceremony church/ reception hotel) and photographer + cinematographer. i just picked out my dress (whew!) and.... well, that's about it!
flowers? centerpieces? nope
decor? not even close
shoes/jewelry? soon
favors and other fun stuff? haven't even started thinking about it yet!
haha... ta da!! so relax!!!!
I am freaking out! There's so much left to do, and my bachelorette weekend just completely fell through and we can't find anyone to marry us. I wish we had eloped!
Oooo, I'm stressed beyond belief. I feel like there is so much stuff to do but I have to wait for other details to be ironed out before I can actually do anything! We do have most of our vendors nailed down though, so at least I've got something going...
It really is only a little over 3 months, isn't it? AGHHHHHH!!!!
Well at least I am not the only one feeling this way! I am planning a cruise wedding (leaving out of Florida) from Texas! I have guests coming from Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida and Texas...so lets just hope that everyone gets on the ship!
I thought that a cruise wedding=easy....all it meant was that I took care of the "BIG THINGS" location/catering/cake/marriage license/musician and flowers---BUT they won't give me the flowers I want!!!![]()
The colors are blue/yellow so I wanted hydrangeas--they said no--so I find a florist outside and they are going to deliver to the ship--then they said NO again--now all of my prayers were answered when I was reading on here and found CLAY FLOWERS!! I am happy as can beeeee now that I can have the flowers I wanted (that was the one worry I had)....
I had my first fitting last Saturday for my dress, all accessories purchased
We booked our own photographer to come on board---but we havent met with her yet
which makes me a little nervous but we have one full day on board before they would need to take the photos thankfully!
We are just finalizing our programs DIY, newsletters to keep people up to date (which will go out in September),gift bags, wedding music, packing, and getting the tux for my groom...seems like just a little but I'm still freaking out I feel like there should be more to do!
Well, if it makes any November brides out there feel better...I was getting married outside of Bostonon November 7th, and I've had to just start to re-plan my wedding! Everything was pretty much taken care of here in Boston, beautiful venue, amazing vedors, 170 guests... And then comes family drama, and financial worries.
So, last week we decided to move our wedding to Key West (with only 30 of our closest family and friends). Now, I'm in the process of starting over!!!
Wish me luck!!
~Kismet
(And, if there are any Florda Keys brides who could help me out with vendors or locations....I'd LOVE it!!)
Good luck Kismet!
Wow, okay. Good to know I'm not alone!!! I just need more money. Limited time, I can handle. Limited money only gets you so far. And I want to quit my job because my boss is insane and slowly making me that way too....... arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!
We have everything planned for the most part. The big things, venue, DJ, photographer, etc., have been planned since last September, as well as having had my dress as well. I recently got the dress fitted, and got the centerpieces (except for the broken ones). Now I really have to start working on the music. There are a million songs in my head and I pod that I continuously think, 'this has to be on the playlist', but I always forget to write it down. Ugh, it sucks workign full time and having to put this together!
@rol769 You just made me panic over my playlist! I kid. Sort of! No I really do need to sit down and tackle that one. Along with - buying our rings, learning how to dance, ordering the food, getting the invitations out, staying sane....
Is it November yet?
I have most of the big things done. I will feel better when bridesmaids have their dresses, things are paid for and rsvps are in. Wow. I feel like I have a lot to do...maybe that is because it is true.
So, it's September. Did that make any other November brides get a little fluttery?
I've got almost all of the major things taken care of. I hear you on the money thing, Laylabelle. Every time I have a little extra, I can check one more thing off of my list. That's the nerve wracking part.
Everything is done with teh exception of the flowers being ordered - I don't want roses and peonies are too expensive. I'll be nailing that down soon, though. I think that might be it other than tiny details that can't be worked out any sooner than money coming in.
I think that writing it out is making me more nervous. Hahahahaha.
When I looked at the calendar today I could hardly believe it's OCTOBER! I'm starting to get less stressed & more excited :)
I'm at the point where I just want the wedding to finally be done so I can go on my honeymoon and relax and not have to plan anything!! But it's nice to finally see a lot of things coming together.
Fluttery - that's exactly how I feel now that it's officially October. Oh my goodness!!
I hope everybody isn't feeling too stressed or anxious!
I was just looking at the extended forecast (15 days out, I know, inaccurate for sure) and saw that the lows were down at 0 and 2 degrees!
I was kind of feeling bad for our friends who have evacuated Minnesota weather after college, making them come back in November and all, and then I realized I was looking at celsius temperatures. Smart. Happy to report it'll probably be in the 30s :)
Hahahahaha. We have been having record highs and the wedding is outside in a few weeks. Thankfully, a cold front came through and helped me feel better about the possibility of cooler weather later.
I was stressed a lot lately, but now I'm READY. I want to just get married already and have fun.
OMG 0's and 2's?? I thought it was cold here (it's in the 60's, heh!).
I'm soooo ready, already!!
@ laylabelle No, it won't actually be in single digits yet, haha, that's just the celsius temp. Farenheit it'll be in the high 20s or low 30s probably. I'm jealous, we won't see 60s again until June. Haha.
@Jelly_Bean25, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's nice in Florida, too! I am trying not to freak out, but I keep wondering if it's going to be hot or cold!
I keep getting butterflies in my stomach, but I'm really, really excited. I just hope I don't forget anything important! I suppose as long as there is a ceremony, food, drinks, and music, people won't notice if I miss something!
So ladies--November is getting here MUCH faster than I thought that it would!!! Best wishes for all of you with upcoming "I Dos!" We have 19 days til the Mr and I say I DO!
I have lots of random littleness to catch up on in the next 17 days. My biggest stresser right now is everyone around me catching the flu. NO FLU!!!!!!!! I'm bonding with airborne, zync, hot water and hand sanitizer...and LYSOL!!!!
i'm really paranoid about the flu, too. generally, excited and .... excited.
Good, glad I'm not the only one paranoid about the flu. I have totally insane daydreams that involve my whole wedding is a flop because everyone has the flu. :/ I really need to chill.
I'm starting to get paranoid about that too! I work at a large university and they were expecting it to peak in mid Oct but it doesnt really seem like it has... so hopefully I manage to dodge it. We seem to only have had a couple people out with it in the last month.
Also is anybody else hitting a kind of surreal stage? I can't even believe, when I look at my google calendar, how quickly it's coming up. Luckily we've got our big stressful tasks pretty much all accomplished so it's okay if I walk around ina little bit of a daze ;) Haha.
I can't believe I only have 10 more days!! I have no idea how I will get everything done.
Everyone at my job is sick and I've been feeling pretty bad for the last couple of days. I hope that it either waits until after the honeymoon or comes and goes very quickly!
ACK!! I'm getting excited for and jealous of all of you girls that are before me. Hahahaha. It's quite tormenting at this late afternoon hour. I'm excited for you and wishing that it was me going sooner than I am. You can do it. And you guys have to promise to post pictures as soon as you can.
I'm terrified that I'll come down with swine flu before my wedding & honeymoon are over. I have suppressed immunity, so if I come in contact with it, I'll definitely go down (and hard). But Texas is still only giving the vaccine to hospital and prison workers. So there's nothing I can do but just sit here and be terrified. And invest in massive quantities of Lysol...
I got the dang stupid flu!!! :( :( :( I've been at it for 4 days now. :( Luckily my wedding is still a bit far off which I'm actually glad...11 days. I'm emotion-less and that's not usual but what can you do when you feel like crap. :(
My FH was sick last week and a few people at work were sick and I was actually hoping to get sick last week... so it gets out of my system and so it will be less of a chance of getting sick closer to my wedding. (Plus, I was hoping to use up some sick days at work and have a rest from working.) Anyway, I guess my immune system worked extra hard because I'm not sick. I'm just hoping that I stay healthy from now until my wedding. Last 3 weeks are crucial.
Anyone not really thrilled about Christmas. I think because I spent a lot of my saving on this wedding, there isn't much money left for christmas presents. Plus, with this wedding, most of my time has gone to planning it and not really anytime to figure out what to get everyone for christmas.
Went to the mall over the weekend and was not really happy about seeing christmas decorations up. I usually like christmas but I think I'm worried about the christmas presents I have to buy.
Plus my wedding is the weekend after Thanksgiving and our rehersal is on black friday... so I know I won't be able to go out shopping to get some good deals or spend money on christmas gifts the day before my wedding.
:/

I know it's a little over three months away, but I'm seriously freaking out. It seems like it's never ending - there is always something to make, do, arrange, buy, pay a deposit on, coordinate.... I know it can be done and I know I can do this - but a little insight into how other November brides are handling the stress would be really helpful right about now.
I keep trying to remind myself of all the little points of progress. For instance, I took my dress to the alteration shop this saturday, paid the deposit, and scheduled the next fitting for August 22nd, by which time I must have my shoes so we can decide on the hem. I've started painting the picture frames I'm hanging near the dessert buffet, finalizing the guest list, took the photographer to the venue, started designing the centerpieces, found the tags for the dessert buffet and started working on my playlist. All of that since Saturday! And I still feel light years behind everyone else!
Enough about me - how are you guys doing?
