Just checking in to see how all my month twins are holding up! I was a little stressed last week, but I'm actually feeling pretty on top of things and excited recently! How about you??
i am so excited too! it's a long hard road, but exciting! finally the girls all ordered their dresses! 75 days!
I'm getting more excited every day! We are almost ready to send out our invitations (my FI got inspired to add ribbon & 2 different stamps to them - I was happily surprised!), I made our ring-bearer nest, and I just had my first shower! I can't believe it's only 2 1/2 months away. I swear I'll wake up the day of and think "What am I supposed to do today? Oh! Get married!"
I'm feeling good. We're getting the decorations taken care of. Still need to work on all my things plus get the guys ready. I've found that a lot of what we need to do still (ie food that we're doing ourselves) can't be done this early. But I'd say about 80% of the big things are done. My family shower is in 2 weeks and I can't wait! :)
So stressed! But ordered the invites this week, phew. Ketbuah next. Yarkulkes. Shoe shopping (hard than expected). Makeup artist still needed. Most of the big stuff out of the way. Crazy amount of little stuff. Also, my sis is getting married 8/8 and I'm her MOH, so...
Just be came a little stressed today realizing that our wedding is 2.5 months away. Most of the big stuff is taken care of, lots of little things.....Huff!
I know! Why does 3 months seem like not enough time to get those little things done!? Augh! Deep breath....
Are you guys making your seating charts/escort cards before you get RSVPs? That is one of the big ones I have left but don't know if I should wait to get a better idea of who is for sure coming. I am getting the invites printed as soon as i get my mailing addresses together on one spreadsheet and get FMIL's...when those are sent I will be so much less stressed!!!
AAAAHHHHH! I'm so stressed with all these little details towards the end. I'm terrified I'm going to forget something! But this weekend my older sister/co-MOH and I made our invites on her Gocco. They turned out so great and I'm so excited that it's finally getting closer! We've been engaged for over a year now.
I did a spreadsheet for the seating chart in advance, It will get updated as responses come back. It was actually harder than I thought it would be.
Well, we were originally planning a June wedding and ended up changing it to October and moving it halfway across the country (where we know no one but will be living because of a new job) about a month and a half ago, so I still have plenty to do! Invitations are nearly done, photographer is supposed to call tomorrow, dress came in yesterday, and we have catering down to two people and should get that finalized by Tues. I know most of you ladies probably did all that stuff months ago! I just figure that it's less time for me to stress over the less-important things.
I have 97 days ... so that's 3 months and 5 days. Ahhh. Its approaching soo fast. Omg.
This week will be my busiest and most stressful thus far. For the last few months I've been collaborating with a couple florists and I think that I will sign a contract and have one hired if the deal is fair, we're meeting tomorrow to finalize the deal.
Also, we've been designing invitations and will get her proposal this week as well, hopefully we'll hire her ... invitations go out some time in August.
I also have to order my veil, order ring bearers outfit and decide if I will go with a splurge flower girl dress or continue my search for a deal.
Have to order my favors too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OH and go to the church to pick up info on ceremony etc. ... and also marriage class! Yay.
I'm personally waiting until we get some more RSVPs before we do the seating - I only want to have to do it once!!
I finished the last of our paper products this morning so now I'm relaxing. All we have to do is find FI a suit and I'm aallll done. It feels so good!
I'm doing better than I thought. My cousins have taken over most of the planning so I don't have as much to worry about. I can't believe that it is less than 3 months away!!! It blows my mind, especially when people say, "you still have plenty of time to do everything..." I know I sure don't feel that way...
Feeling a little stressed working on our invitations... I feel like I'm running behind since October is coming up fast! Especially trying to plan a wedding in a different state, it seems a lot harder to get things done without making it a big trek out there.
I know I'll feel better when these are done and out.... *sigh*
Feeling very stressed. Can't believe there are just over 80 days to go!
There is a decent amount done though I guess. We have: the church, the venue (which also will be making all the food including the cake and is all picked out), the rehearsal dinner site, the DJ, the photographer, the BM dresses and Flower Girl dress are ordered, the tuxes picked out, wording for invites and all the pieces are at the stationer getting proofs made (although I have to finish the map and send that out ASAP), we know what favors we want, went to Pre-Cana and went to 1 of 3 mentor couple meetings but the other meetings are already scheduled, garter and champagne glasses purchased, swag for the staircase at the reception, honeymoon booked, and I have my first fitting this week where I also need to order my shoes (getting them dyed BLUE!), but I know the heel height will be fine so I just need to take a pair that is comparable.
Still need to do: Finalize and order flowers, get passport, decide on centerpieces (non-floral) and buy materials, rent linens, mail invites, finish and send wedding party info packets (so people get an idea of at least everyone else's names and some notion as to what will being happening when after they get here since practically everyone is OOT), purchase attendant gifts, programs, purchase/make favors, figure out who is baking what cookies and bake them, decide on OOT bags purchase materials and put them together, seating chart, get all parent and grandparent wedding photos and photos of relatives that away very recently, find hair/makeup artist, select ceremony music, select ushers, gift bearers and readers, find hair accessory and jewelry for me and bridesmaids, whew.
I think a lot of the stress is coming from me not having a job yet and trying to shop around for the absolute best deals. Its hard trying to even find something PT to supplement since I have been going between states quite a bit (FH is in one state along with mentor couple, parents and wedding in another). Otherwise I think the centerpieces, linens, hair/makeup, OOT bags and attendant gifts would all be done now. My mother is also proving to be very difficult in working with me to get things done (like I find a good deal and she scoffs at it or how she won't order her dress for some unknown reason). Oh well, just keeping my fingers crossed that it all works out.
Less than 3 mos to go! Feeling good at this point. Big thing on the list in the next week is to book honeymoon. By the end of the month I also want to select ceremony readings and music so that we can have our programs printed off. Otherwise, I feel pretty good! My mom has been super helpful lately....
AAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! 76 days, omgomgomgomg. I'veEverything is under control, I'm just excited and nervous. A full year and a bit more of wedding planning and it's nearly here! Whoa... Otherwise, we are fully under control. But man, it's go time!
Star, I'm so impressed you already sent out invites. I feel sooo behind on that. Last week we finalized the design and this week we're waiting for her proposal to make them. Hopefully they are done in time. My planner said they should go out by Aug. 24th
Passing the 3 month mark is pretty exciting! I am definitely starting to feel more stressed, but once I finish my invites I will feel MUCH better!
Is anybody else, just ready to get things over with? I think because I've planned for about 9 months and done a lot of the planning by myself, mainly because I've had plenty of down time at work, I'm about to the limit. Good news is, there isn't much left to do! Biggest thing we have left is to get the guys fitted for their tuxes. The rest is just little things like a few decorations here and there and still trying to find ring bearer pillows that I like! Found the cutest pumpkin baskets for my flower girls last week and am looking for either orange or a fall print with orange and leaves for the ring bearer's pillow!! I'm just ready to marry the man of my dreams and get on that plane to Hawaii!!!! Good luck with the rest of the October brides!!!
I felt the pressure to send out our invites so early because I only did email Save-the-Dates due to a lack of organization and issues with choosing an actual date because of venue location drama (that I blogged about). I knew not everyone had an email address and so some people didn't even know the date! That's why I was so hell-bent on getting them out quickly!
@stormy - I am so ready for it to be our wedding day!!!
When is everyone else sending out invites? We're planning to send them out the second week of August and requesting a Sept. 15 RSVP deadline.
October 11th is closer than it has any right to be!
Invitations are going out August 1; this morning I made a list of all the things that have to be done still and it is painfully large. Now, granted, many of those things don't really matter, and if they don't get done it's no biggie (making a card box: really, any basket will do; decorations: it's an outdoor wedding so really, going more casual will do; that kind of thing). But they're still on the list. And "dress fitting" and "strapless bra" and "two more hours of reception playlist" DO matter.
Happily, just in time to stem the tide of my freak-out, my company's given everyone free Moon Pies. Neat!
@Erindesmar: Me too; I'm planning to send out the invites 8/17/09, exactly 2 months before the wedding date.
I still have alot to do, but just worried about one lone bridesmaid that has not gotten their dress...and its on sale for $99!!! AHHHH. And I NEED to finish my DIY invites, but I got to rest this week-end and had my first bridal shower...so exciting!
I've been slacking on the remaining details - lots left to do, but I just felt it wasn't close enough to the big day... but now I need to go full speed ahead and get 'er done! *lol* Lots to do, lots to do - and really I just want it to be October already! ;)
@Erindesmar: We're also hoping for the 2nd week of August and have a Sept. 14 RSVP date. I just hope we get the invites in time!
I'm hoping to send out invites the first week of Aug and request back by Sept 1st, I need to give my caterer a head count 30 days out and would like to have a little time to call those I haven't heard from.
Right on schedule so far, but now I'm in to the DIY stuff- wrapping the gifts in fabric, homemade fabric and ribbon cards, the favors. THEN I'll start the "so you're coming to our wedding in Vegas, here's what you need to know" letter. I feel a little stressed not b/c there's not a ton to do, but my schedule is pretty packed with 5x per week workouts, and I'm cycling again on the weekends, which leaves not a ton of time. I want most of this stuff done before the invites go out, to leave room for error. I have no patience for last minute hassles.
On the bright side, all the weight training has improved my performance on the bike, and seeing everything come together is pretty neat. With our tiny DW, so much is still in my head. Seeing the blue fabrics around the house makes me smile.
I was stressing pretty bad a few weeks ago, but think I've got it under control now. We have been trying to do a few things each week. Luckily FH has been pretty helpful. Getting excited cause is getting close. My SIL is still addressing invites - hope to get them out mid-August. Hope that is not too late!
Everything done except-
Invitations-addressing & mailing-we are sending these out early in August
Ties for groomsmen-BM dresses came in, so now FI and I need to pick the ties for the groomsmen and hopefully find (or have made) a bow tie for my son who is the ring bearer. Guys are wearing navy jackets and khaki pants, BM dresses are a shade of claret so I'm hoping for a snazzy paisley of some sort.
Alterations for my gown bc my undergarment was backordered-have to have that in hand to be alterations done. Luckily, there won't be much required-remove padding in the bust and (hopefully!) take it in some.
Final consultation with florist
Final consultation with our church hostess (sort of a coordinator) to finalize details of wedding day-where everyone is dressing, etc.
Final consultation with photographer-finalize list of "necessary" pictures
Final program review with officiant (I am diy these, on the computer at home, so no biggie there)
Pick up disposables from the wholesale dealer for the reception
Pay off wedding bands on layaway and make sure they are sized correctly
Get my groom's wedding gift engraved (a signet ring for his right hand)
EVERYTHING else is completely done!
LisaLisa :)
Today is the 100 day mark for me!! I cannot wait, it can't get here soon enough. I have nothing major left to book or do besides the alterations on my gown, which I can't do until September. I haven't sent out the invitations yet but they are all put together, stamped, and addressed. Just waiting until it's time to send them out! YAY!!!
I'm stressed to the Max. Now selling my Condo is becoming an issue. I't's down over 100,000 in price since the peak of the market. At least I didn't pay the peak price.
How are you ladies doing? We hit our two month mark yesterday! Invitations are out, we got our first RSVPs today, my dress should be here by the end of the week...and it's all starting to seem very real.
We're a week behind you Eng so 8 weeks and 5 days left. All that's left to do is get FI a suit. And finalise the chairs I only decided we needed last week - oops!
After spending 12 hours yesterday hand calligraphing my invitations, I have about 20 seals still to add, but they should be in the mail by noon! I feel so accomplished.
Now, if my ceremony musicians would get back in the country so we can sign a contract, I'd feel much better about only having 72 days left. (deep breath)
Just need to submit the newspaper announcement, meet once more for final flower/cake decor and pick some reception table friends, oh and the out of town basket. I'll wait for the seating chart until after RSVP deadline but got a semi-one done on spreadsheet. Let the showers begin!! :)
I still have 50 invitations to address and I've been stuck out of town for work for over a week now! Without weekends and evenings to get these done I might have to resort to clear labels for the last 50, but I really really don't want to! I will be home mid-day on the 9th and want to mail them on the 12th so I will have to just crank them out!!
I swear we should be able to take wedding leave before and after the wedding just like you get maternity leave. Work is definitely getting in the way!! ha
