We are going to put triangular prism shaped holders on the sides of the pews and put simple roses in them, and as far as other decor we are keeping it simple because we are having columns and flowers on the stage area.
I am having deep/hot pink gerbera daisies as my main flower theme. I was thinking at first of putting toule down aisle, but I want to keep it simple. Now I'm considering just a few hot pink gerbera kissing balls (link below), that hang on a satin ribbon. You could place every couple pews or chairs. This is a nice, clean look with little decor. I'm a minimalist and think that if it's a big beautiful church, some candles and a large flower arrangement in front, with white liner and a few of these balls may be perfect.
Most all my friends have used toule and white lights and hung down aisle, with flower: looked great too.
I was going to have pew markers made of white lilies and wide silver ribbon (inspiration below), but our church was dead set against it because they claimed the clips would scratch the pews. So now I'm left with two big floral arrangements to put on the floor on either side of the altar. I'm not even going to bother with anything else I think.
Thanks Bees! I forgot about the kissing balls...I'll have to look into those :)
I was thinking of having pomanders on every other pew
not sure about having flowers near the alter area?
Someone suggested that I just bring in some pretty potted plants instead of spending too much on floral arrangements for the stage.
My MIL tied these beautiful pew bows with different shades of my wedding colors. She used to sell bows to companies for their baskets, so she is really good at it.
Here is our decor. We had a DIY chuppah (canopy) at the front, made of ivory charmeuse and gold satin sashes, with two garlands of rose lights along the front edge. We had an ivory pew bow at the aisle end of each row of seats, and a gold satin sash around each of the seats in the front row. Even with no floral decorations at all, I liked how the sanctuary looked. And this was all worked out even though we never even saw the synagogue until we arrived for our wedding, so all our plans had to be made with just pictures of the sanctuary.

We are leaving our church as is. There will be some flowers on the alter for communion and we are doing two side arrangements.
We are leaving the church as is, aside from perhaps some petals and a flower arrangment at the alter.
Wow thanks ladies!! I'm thinking that with all the colors that I have going on I'm going to try to focus more on the flowers at the front and on the window sills...runner & petals but forget about pew bows. I really wanted to do pew bows, but maybe I have too much going on. I would still like to do something on the pews, but just for like the 1st 4 rows..hhmm

I just read a post and it seems like a lot of Bees are decorating the church the day before...other than the flowers what are you doing to decorate the church with? My FI's church is a little dark and NEEDS some color (but still on a budget).
What are your plans?
* Oh and I'm all about the DIY projects too!*
Thanks Bees!
