I can't believe we're so close either! It's so exciting! I have my hair trial next week which I am looking forward to. FI and I are finishing up our playlist this weekend and beginning work on the seating chart. We're long distance and those things are just easier to do in person while he's visiting instead of on the phone. I also have to finish the hot chocolate mix that I'm giving out as favors and do the paying off the balance thing.
holy moley!
Freaking out a bit, but most stuff is done. He's in charge of getting his own accessories, which he still hasn't done, but if he doesn't have a tie, I'm not going to worry about it. The only thing that concerns me is staying healthy. He was exposed to whooping cough at work, but got a shot that is supposed to help stave it off. I think I'm coming down with a cold or some kind of allergy thing. Hopefully it will run its course before I leave.
Other than that, just need to be sure and get last minute appointments for hair, etc. And I want to get the wedding announcements addressed and ready to be mailed.
i have just over a week to go.
Today is my last day at work.
His parentals flew in two nights ago and are staying with us.
I'm picking up the ceremony programs this pm.
Everything is almost done but the nerves are kicking in
I'm so nervous! I keep having dreams that something is going to go wrong at the wedding. It's 2 weeks from tomorrow! All I have to do is get my BM jewelry (I've already picked it out, just have to go get it) finish the bird seed bags, put the stickers on the favor boxes and I think that's it! I'm just ready for the day to be here :)
It's so crazy how fast the day is creeping up on us!! I have 3 weeks from today!!! But I have to finish the programs and print them (DIYing them), put the out of town guest bags together, put favors together, get candy for the favors and for the candy bar, place cards for head table and reserved tables, final fitting for me and my girls, make CD of ceremony music, finish putting together guest book and card box.... haha quite a bit overwhelmed! But SO excited!
@airythia: I just got done w/my seating chart Friday night. GOOD LUCK!! Seriously don't put it off though, it took me HOURS to do.
@TexasGalah: don't know that I'd leave my FI to his own devices on getting that taken care of, my fingers are crossed for you! :) I'm glad you have such a relaxed view on it though, freaking out just wouldn't get you very far!!
@aribari: I'm SO jealous you're off work for the whole week! I only get the wed/thur/fri before and mon/tue after off :( I started a new job in November and didn't want to take off too much time and we don't have the $$ or time for a honeymoon. Such is life, right?! :P
@nurselindsey: Hi date twin! I've totally had dreams too, but everything will be great, I'm sure of it!!! We've had so much going on that this week was the first that I really got to focus on the wedding....and here we are almost done with it! WOAH!
@Ginger87: I'm dyi-ing programs too....mine is only 2 weeks away and they're not even started. WHOOPS. I'm kind of at the point with planning where I'm thinking "Who REALLY cares?! I just want to be MARRIED!" :)
Hello January girls!!!
I'm almost done!! I just have to finish up the escort cards and make 1 more tiny sign. And of course, finish finalizing things with each vendor. Thats it!
I was telling my FI the other day that I am surprised with myself. Yes, I'm excited. But mostly... I'm just really calm about things. I thought that I would be a basket-case and incredibly stressed at this point. Nope. I'm just calm and happy. So weird.
Good luck to all of you in our finals days as single women!!!
It is really reassuring to know you all are at the same stages as me! Just doing the seating cards and organising the guest book. Did have a minor 'OMG' moment on Christmas eve as forgot how busy everything would be (duh) around the holidays and how on earth was I intending to fit all these jobs in!
Haha.
I am staying with my parents for the holidays (as we are getting married in my hometown) and FI is working right up until Tuesday 11 Jan - and we are getting married on the 15th! Crazyness.
Wishing you all lots of luck and sending love and calm thoughts your way xxx
Hi, I have less than a week to go. I just finished my DIY parasol. People are still trying to come to the wedding (uninvited guests). I feel like I am forgetting something.
Hello ladies!!! I can't believe December is just about over and our month is here!!! The last few months have literally flown by - I can't believe it! I'm so ready for THE day!! I still have to finalize and print off my programs, order candy for the candy bar, buy alcohol, get cups, utensils, tablecloths, and napkins, get our 1st dance/mother-son dance song/father - daughter dance songs to the DJ, meet one last time with my flower lady, get my flower girl's dress, buy bridesmaids gifts, start completing my centerpieces and some other things...eeek! I can't wait! :)
@TaterTot26--Hey, date twin!!!!!
I'm so excited and getting so ready for the big day! This weekend I am finishing up all our decorations for the pews and the ribbon wands for our send off. I'm also going to finish up these wreaths that we are putting on the outside of the reception hall doors. My mom and I are going to go ahead and get the bows for the railings outside of the church done.
I'm also starting my lists of where everything needs to go-- for instance, my black bag will hold extra wedding day schedules, my jewelry, the rings, the marriage license. My family will call it "the football" if anyone gets that reference. :) I am also starting to get the stuff for the OOT bags and I'm going to get it to the planner so she can put them together and deliver the week of the wedding. We get our church/reception hall for the whole week before the wedding, so I can bring things there and store it without having to bring it all the day/night before. So, I"m trying to be organized and get things in large plastic totes, so the planner can put everything out the day of and I don't have to worry about a thing.
I did get my rehearsal dinner outfit and I've started to pack for the honeymoon. In the midst of all this, I'm still working on cleaning out the house so my FI can move in and not just have a corner. :) I tackled the garage one day last week and I need to finish it up later this week. We are going to take some of the money we got for Christmas and use it to purchase some closet systems and get organized. How grown-up for us!
I'm so excited for you 1-1-11 brides! I can't wait to hear about the happiness of the day!!!!
I seriously got a knot in my stomach when someone asked me today "How are you feeling about next week?!" when I realized they were asking about my WEDDING. OMG. Soon I'll be able to see the 10 day forecast. We've only had one snow for about 45 minutes--quite literally--so I'm a little nervous it will all unleash that day.
I am feeling eerily calm about...everything. I've been surprisingly calm about a lot of the wedding details throughout the process and honestly thought I would turn into bridezilla as the wedding got closer. But nope, still mellow yellow...which is pretty weird, for me. FI is off this whole week so I gave him a looooong list of wedding things we still needed to get done, and he finished the list! We still have what to do, but overall the to do list is getting smaller and smaller.
I almost feel embarrassed to say it, because I am really excited to get married...but is anyone else feeling nervous about actually getting married? Its not cold feet per se, but more a healthy nervousness about the unknown. I don't know how to describe it, but it is a strange feeling for sure!
@rachaelrobin: Yep. I feel nervous about how the day will go, and if I will be as great a wife as my mother. I can't believe I have 4 more days! I want to cry tears of happiness right now! My daddy almost cried when my mama tried on her dress for us the other day.
wishing you all a great and wonderful wedding on your special day. <3
@rachelrobin and @trugem
I'm so feeling that same way! I know it is the right thing and we are perfect for each other and we are going to have a wonderful life/marriage, but it's just the unknown. I am starting to feel like it's REALLY real. I mean, we have our marriage license and I know we are getting married, but it's like, every decision, every worry I have from here on out includes me and FI, let alone kids! We aren't even at that point, but it's just craziness. I CAN"T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Tru & Bonnie Blue - its nice to know I'm not alone!
Ladies, I am so excited for all of us - seriously, I cannot wait to hear your recaps! I hope each of your days are wonderful and perfect.
@Mrs. Bonnie Blue: Exactly! We picked up our marriage licisence yesterday and it seems so real. It is like I am living a dream right now. For some strange reason, it seems like FH gets more handsome everyday. lol
@trugem: That is so true!! I am feeling the same way about FI, which is surprising, because I already think he is super cute!
I know exactly what ya'll mean! I look at FI and I am just THIS close to bursting into tears because he is so handsome and wonderful. Then, I keep telling myself to 'man up' and 'keep it together'. But, it's getting so hard to when all I want to do is run around screaming that I'm so excited to be getting married!
I realized today that I'm going to be on my 'lady week' during the wedding. BOO. I'll be a giant ball of emotions! Oh. well. Grr.
We got our marriage license today! WAHO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Just booked mani/pedis for all of the girls for the day before. I am almost finished putting the ribbons on all of the favors. FI and I ae heading down tonight to look at bars for people to go to after the reception. Escort cards and table numbers are done! Putting together a list of all the checks we need to write and have ready for the vendors. Meeting with the priest one more time on Monday. Have to finish and print the welcome letter for the OOT bags. OMG - one week to go.
Wow, it is so great to see I am not alone! I made a last minute decision to add a color into my "metallic" scheme mainly because I can't find anymore pewter/charcoal ribbon in the city of Atlanta.
We just finished another 1.5 hour session of Waltz class. I chose Ballroom shoes thus saying goodbye to the ridiculously gorgeous pair of heels I had been eyeing. I think it will be a good choice.
Still have programs, music selections, favors, one more shower, RSVP collection, table assignments, and oh yah.. need to do a dress fitting. HA! Jan. 29 is coming around the corner. Please say a prayer that I don't yell at my fiance, quit my job, or pull out what is left of my eyebrows! HA!
Um. Woah.
Ladies of Jan. 8...our weddings are THIS weekend. We're going to be doing recaps before you know it. How did THAT happen?!
What are you all working on this week?
How did the Dec. 31/Jan. 1 girls go?!
hi ladies!! congrats/best wishes to all. i've been super absent from the 'bee for a while, but my nerves made me want to come back so us january brides can take a collective gasp!!!! holy cow. anyone else dreading the post wedding depression? i know myself well enough to know it's going to hit me hard. i practically cry the day after christmas every year, let alone the wedding!
I was wondering where everyone went! Its been very quiet around wedding bee for the January brides (including me). Right now Im a little stressed. I picked up these beautiful antique silver champagne flutes a couple years ago at an antique store when we were planning our wedding (the first time around), and now I can't find them! You know when you put something away cause you want to make sure it doesnt get lost and stays safe? Yep, that was my motive. And what do you know, my brain doesnt remember!
Besides that, Ive got my bridal luncheon (not doing a crazy bachelorette, just a lunch and then going over to one of my BM's house for a quick rehearsal since we wont have any other time to do it) So that will be nice to relax a bit and escape from the madness.
Finally confirmed our menu, confirmed cake flavors, and have a playlist 90% done.
FINALLY know what music my bridal party will be walking down to as well as myself.
Got all my favor tags completed (hand wrote 150 of them) and Ive got a great friend coming over next saturday to help me out with assembling them (hot cocoa cones)
Just about finished with making my bridal bouquet (we took pictures last month at the San Diego Temple and I found out the hard way about how delicate hydrangeas are, my bouquet was wilted and turning brown within just an hour or so, so i will be having a silk one, just as beautiful)
Ordered all the satin and tulle fabric we need, should be here next friday (i hope).
Sending my hubby with his mom this saturday to pick up fairy lights and put down more money for our centerpieces.
I still need to drop off the ribbon I want on our cake to the baker, shes a nice 1 hour drive away so ive been procrastinating.
Still need an aisle runner, and to run down to ikea to buy all the glasses, call the rental place for a champagne (lemonade) fountain, figure out where to get an extremely tall ladder (hopefully the scaffolding type) for our ceiling canopy.
So much to do, so little time, and even less energy!!
Good luck ladies, and congrats to those who just tied the knot!! Our honeymoon is sounding even more delicious every day! I cant wait to relax!!!

Ladies we are CLOSE. Holy TOLEDO!!! I had my hair trial last night, the first two "do's" I didn't like but the third was the winner-winner-chicken-dinner! :) All that's left to do is programs, finish the seating chart and pay off balances. How did we get SO. CLOSE?!?! We're riiiiight there. Wow.
