My fiance and I are having our reception in a private club, and our room for that night was booked at a nearby inn.

We are trying to figure out how to get from Point A to Point B. Should we bring back the limo for $150, even though its a 10 minute drive? Should we get a taxi? Should our PARENTS drive us?

We are paying $300 just for our limo to take us from the reception to the hotel! (RIDICULOUS!)

Groomy is driving - but will probably have to get a taxi - we are spending enough on the guest transportation and my transportation to the ceremony. FH has a porsche, so I consider that pretty nice to roll out in :) However, hopefully we arent too typsy!

We skimped in this area and borrowed my husband's dad's truck and drove ourselves to the hotel.  (We would have just left in our car, but sadly she had a mishap in a parking lot, and we didn't have time to get it fixed before the wedding!)  Anyway, I designed a "just married" window cling with our names and wedding date and had it printed at vistaprint.com for super cheap, then my bridesmaids tied a few tin cans to the back of the truck and attached a "just married" car banner from Martha Stewart.  Everything turned out to be really cute and cost all of $20.

We haven't really discussed.  Probably our own vehicle.  Our hotel has a shuttle that will pick up anywhere within a certain miles radius - would that be an option for you?

We are renting a shuttle to bring our guests from the hotel (at least 50-60% of the guests are OOT) to the reception and back at the end of the night so we will be taking the shuttle with them.

We knew we wanted a confetti toss as we left the reception, so we searched high and low for someone with a cool car. We had success last week! BM's boyfriend's mom has a red mustang convertible.

We're in the same situation as PurdueGrace: we'll be taking the chartered shuttle back to the hotel with our guests.

We're thinking of taking the shuttle to the hotel with the guests, but it's sort of anticlimactic as a getaway car, don't you think? :) We're still considering a limo... but not very excited about the cost, especially since we'd only need it for, at most, 15 minutes. ;)

We're walking 2 minutes across the lawn (we're having the reception at a hotel and staying there that night).

This isn't particularly exciting, but we drove ourselves in our own car.  My husband drove to the venue in the car that afternoon and then we drove it over to the hotel together.  We didn't spend any money on transportation, so we didn't have anything extra in the budget for a fancier mode of transport.  Not to mention that it was only a 10 minute drive, so we figured it wasn't worth the extra cash to get a limo or something.

we'll either walk to the post party bar w/ the rest of the guests or take a cab to the hotel (it's about 10 blocks away). we're skimping on transport - yellow cabs pretty much all the way. after all, we're in ny! :)

Um, mom and dad dropped us off at the hotel, on the way back to the house. How are you getting to your honeymoon suite after the reception? : wedding limo transportation Icon Eek

Then they called....at 1230am. Yeeeeah. It was a 40 minute drive and the hotel closest to the reception was a Motel 6. I think my parents driving is better than some random taxi driver for us. Plus, a 40 min drive in StL isn't cheap and we didn't want to spend money on it. It's just transportation...you're so exhausted. It was nice to just sit in a car with my new husband and my parents and them be all, "we're so happy for you, your wedding was so fun" blah blah blah

We rented a town car for an hour. We were soooo glad not to drive ourselves; we were dead on our feet and pretty out-of-it.

We're taking the "drunk bus" (a school bus we are chartering for guests from hotel to venue) back.  We're still figuring out how we'll get TO the venue, however.

teamzeewagen: I'm planning to ask our photographer to drive us! She'll be meeting us at the hotel where we'll be getting ready, taking some pics in town, and then we'll all be going to the venue to take pictures there before the guests arrive. I'm hoping to catch a ride with her. Otherwise maybe we'll just drive in our car and go back to pick it up in the morning.

My goal is a DUI/accident free drunken wedding. :)

We're renting a car for a couple of days before the wedding and then returning on the Sunday after the wedding.  FI and I don't plan to drink at our wedding, but a big group of us is going bar-hopping afterwards.  We'll definitely need a ride home, probably from a cab.

Our hotel room is like 2 miles from our venue, it seemed rediculous for us to pay to have a limo take us, so Mr Frenchie is driving his car across the street :) It seems kinda old school and fun to me - I'm hoping our bridal party decorates the car.

My reception is at a resort/inn on Mackinac Island so we will just walk (upstairs to the suite!)

We are just now trying to figure this out.  There's a football game, so it will be difficult to get a cab, if at all.  We aren't planning on drinking a lot at the wedding, but we have strict rules about driving after drinking, so we need someone else to drive.  We don't want to ask our friends or family to stay up late or not drink so they can drive...

Right now the best option is to secure this wacky cab driver we always manage to get who blares the N'Sync and other cheesy pop music whenever he drives us.  At least it would be funny and we could ride to the hotel jamming out with Sonny.  :)

I think we'll probably get a town car, since we want to sneak out a half hour before our reception ends, to have time to change and do some last minute set up in the suite for our after party. I know we'll be taking advantage of our open bar and not want to drive!

If they're available in your area, you can get a point A to point B town car (usually used for airport transport, but still, it's a nice car), we got quotes in the $50-60 range, much better than $300 that a limo would cost, since they always seem to have a 3 hour minimum!

We have a horse and carriage picking us up! :)  I'm really excited about it!  They are decorating it with a "Just Married" sign in the back and the driver will be dressed up with a top hat and all! :)
