Hey HSTANFORD!
I decided to do the wrap around labels that are becoming so popular now. We are able to address them without any hassle and we can bring some of our invite design out onto the envelope!
It was a tough decision since I have a friend who does caligraphy and she offered to do them for us.
where did you get the wrap around labels? are you doing the labels yourself? or having someone do them for you?
I downloaded a pretty font for free and am just feeding the envelopes thru my printer :) It took a couple tries to get it just right but they look good to me!
I'm going the easy route and printing the addresses on clear labels. I think the post office will give me a big "thumbs up" for legibility!
If you or someone you know has decent handwriting I would really try to address the envelopes rather than printing them. Handwritten envelopes make the invitation much more formal and special.
I hand wrote all of my invite addresses...then we canceled the wedding...however the invites looked gorgeous!
My FI has wonderful writing, so I left it up to him. If I hand wrote them, it would've looked like chicken scratch.
@HSTANFORD,
I'm making them. I made the desing of using "labels" in word and will either buy full sheets of labels and cut them or make the paper labels with my Xryon.
I played with fonts and the printer and printed the names directly onto the envelopes, and I think they came out really nice. Some aspects of the wedding are more important to me than others and the envelopes were not one of my priorities. But they do look nice. :-)
My Mom has really distinct and interesting handwriting. I've always liked it, and she's agreed to write them out. Yay!
I have nice handwriting, so just did my own with a pretty pen. Thought about using a calligrapher, but am very glad I didn't bother.
I used my laser printer to print directly onto the envelopes using fonts which matched the invites. My handwriting is terrible and the clear labels looked funny on my silver envelopes. Took a little time to hand feed each through but far less than me trying to write neatly! (and far cheaper than hiring a calligrapher!)
thanks for the feedback everyone! i think i may try and find someone to write them or print them. heck i dont know! :) i just want them done!
Print them on clear labels!!! Edwardian Script Font size 18 is PERFECT!!!! And easy. And isn't easy a great thing at this point? :)
I want to send them through the printer but FMIL wants to help and she does calligraphy so that will probably what we go with (but I'm holding out for at least printing the return address part).
I'll be using clear labels. The envelopes are silver, and a textured material. I have terrible handwriting, so I will be using English Script!
Im feeding mine thru the printer. Thats how I always address things :)
We printed ours on our printer. Nothing too fancy just a nice script font on our home printer. Came our pretty nice.
I hand-wrote mine, too. I also hand-wrote my own address on each of the RSVP envelopes. I do not recommend the latter, LOL!
