Do you need rentals? You haven't included those (dishes, flatware, cups, tables, chairs, linens, etc) - and that was a big chunk of my catering budgets.
Are these average amounts for the area you live in for each of the vendors, or is that what you're hoping to pay? Some of the dollar amounts you have there seem incredibly low, but I also live in a very expensive area.
Also - if it helps, our GMs and FI got their tuxes through Men's Warehouse, and they were about $160 to rent.
@abbie017: So all the (dishes, flatware, cups, tables, chairs, linens, etc)areincluded in my fee/venue fees. All the extras have been expensed to my decorations vendor.
Also all the prices are accurate, I have priced all the vendors I plan on using and have spoken to all of them except the photorgrapher. I have tried to make sure all my options are cost effective, we are trying to keep everythign around 15,000 or less.
And I will look into the Men's Warehouse for the Groom's attire. Did they have a good selection, in regards to colors? I am thinking I want him to wear light grey/khaki color... I pretty much want to avoid black at all cost.
As of right now. the only deposit I have due (that we have planned) is $500 for our venue/catering, which is due on January 16th. We haven't looked at other venues yet because we were waiting to decide on date/reception venue.
What about your officiant? Do you need to pay him/her a deposit?
@BreezyBride24: I liked their selection, but I wanted a formal black tux - so I didn't look at whether or not they had khaki or light grey options! Their website has an awesome "design your tux" feature that can be fun to play around with, though!
@MsAmandaAnn: Good Catch. Our officiant will be someone through our church, ut will be decided afterwe do our marriage counseling and there is a suggested fee of $300.
@breezybride24 wow sounds like you have a lot planned! The only payment we have made is the deposit on our venue but the second payment is due next month. I also bought my dress last month (wasn't expecting to find "the one") but it was under budget so I saved money by purchasing it ;-)
@BreezyBride24: I am doing the venue first. Mine is quite expensive (almost $$4,000) but that is for the whole weekend. Second for me is the photograhper, and I know it won't be cheap because of the location we have chosen. Incline Village......overlooking Lake Tahoe.
I hope to have all the deposits paid by the end of March. The owner of the venue has been really nice, and is willing to work with us.......so that helps A LOT!! I have done a lot of research and so far, the owner of the venue has been so much help. He is putting me in touch with a personal chef for the dinner following (small guest list, just 10), and he has also put me in touch with an officiant.
I don't plan on dress shopping until I am 9-12 months out, I need to take off a little weight and I don't want to have a lot of alterations that can be avoided. I will probably do my cake shopping, and bridal party shopping at the same time.
But I have already started the shopping for the centerpieces and boquets. That is all stuff I can do right now. Also, I have chosen to marry on a Sunday, because everything won't be as expensive or already booked. We have already purchased the tuxes, and are looking at invitations.
Total estimated budget. $10,000 to $12,000.
We've already paid deposits for our photographer and videographer. I plan to pay the balances over time, as we save up more money. We're having a backyard reception with home-cooked food, so we don't have venue or catering deposits. If you really love a certain photographer, I would recommend securing them sooner rather than later, because they book quickly!!
So far we have our venue booked, and we didn't have to pay a fee for that :)
We will be booking our photographer in February -400.00 deposit.
I have looked into officiants, and will be hoping to book around April.
@bellaluna290: If you don't mind me asking...what are youlooking for in an officiant?
And you are very lucky to avoid needing to put down a deposit for your venue--what a money saver!
@BreezyBride24: FI and I haven't discussed it much, but I think we're looking for someone that will let us customize our wedding to our needs. We aren't religious people and we want someone who will be open minded and not too expensive :)
I know! Even if we had to pay a deposit, it would only have been 400.00. It's definitely a steal because 99% of places around here have ridiculous deposits (we're talking 3k and up). It helps that we are having a small wedding
@bellaluna290: We are having a small wedding as well. How many guests are you guys expecting? We are estimagting aroudn 90.

Hi Bees,
I was just curious as to how everyone is ranking their weddin to do list an payments.
My hunny and I are paying for our entire wedding ourelves, so we have been strategically trying to figure out how we will book and pay for various aspects of the wedding.
The following is my to-do list, along with the month we will be making our first deposit:
Venue/Dj included&uplighting: January 2013 (Sunday the 6th!) $1500
Alcohol: February 2013 $600
Tent: February/March 2013 $200
Food: April 2013 $2000
Photographer: May 2013 $700-900
Decocations/Flowers: June 2013 $600
Dress: July-August (hopefully $1000 or so... I am planning to get it done through Jasmine's Bridal)
Cake: October 2013 -$200-300
Groom's Attire: Dec./January 2014 Amount ???
Rings:December 2013- February 2014 ..this really depends on prices and selections. Amount ???
I hope I'm not missing anything. What's your plan? I'm really not sure if I should move htings like the photographer and decorations up and wait on the food... Iam so paranoid about running into a situation where my top pick is taken!
Any suggestions?
