The week of the wedding and probably the next week and a half after, we did horrible. We ate bad, drank pop (something we rarely do), and didn't get much exercise. We are finally getting back into a routine of eating healthier and starting up our evening walks again.
I'm doing terribly but hubby is rockin' it lately. I need to do better about keeping healthy food in the house (it hurts when junk food is cheaper and we're shopping on a budget!)
Thanks for this motivation...I've already started noticing how tight my pants are getting after three months. I have no excuse to work out (even without a gym membership bc here is SoCal it is the 70s and 80s!)
It's been pretty easy for me -- I've actually stepped up my workouts after the wedding. All the sudden, I had so much free time, so I've been hitting the farmer's market for fresh food, cooking at home, and exercising. Planning for the wedding left me spending a ton of time with my computer or craft projects and excusing myself to watch TV with a glass of wine to relax, so pretty much anything would be an improvement from that.
We've been pretty good with food overall since the wedding but I did gain a pound and a half today, which is all I've gained since we got home from the honeymoon. I'm not even sure what I weighed at the wedding to be honest, but I've probably gained about 5 pounds since the wedding when you count the honeymoon. I'm pretty determined not to let that get any higher, and to in fact lose it again while it's possible to now! I have definitely had a lot LESS time ever since the wedding though bc of how much my schedule changed this year, so it's been hard for me to get into a good workout routine. I just found out that my new job has a free gym for staff though, and I'll be checking it out tomorrow!!
I'm getting MORE fit. Back at the gym, and back to real life. The week of the wedding, when my parents were in town, was a bad one - we went out to eat every night and then had wedding cake for breakfast, lunch and dessert for a week straight. Didnt' exactly do my body good that week. But now, I'm doing alright (aside from all the excess halloween candy I've been nommin' on...)
No car here in Italy, so we're walking everywhere. I'm slimming down already and kind of stoked that it hasn't taken any more effort than the necessity of grocery shopping.

I'm SO determined not to put on newlywed weight -- fitness, eating well and being a bit too busy and stressed helped me get in the best shape of my life pre-wedding (physically, at least!). So I've just signed up for a 100-mile walk group at work. (Easy: Walk 100 miles from now through early December, log them and be entered in a drawing for prizes.) I'll also continue with my health insurance incentive program (a certain number of gym visits -- forget how many, but I'm about halfway there, and have until mid-March 2010 to finish -- and I'll get $150 towards next year's gym membership).
Mr. Bruschetta's committed to fitness as well, so that definitely helps. And I'm hoping we can do a one-year photo shoot -- excited to start researching photographers! -- so I think that'll be the extra push I need.
How about you? What are you (and/or your fiance) doing to stay fit post-wedding?
