Everyone knows we tend to have huge families and tons of friends. This makes it difficult when it is time to pick the bridal party.
How many people are in yours? How did you decide who you would pick?
You can see my bridal party at www.weddingwire.com/ianharveykeontesmith under The Maids and The Men. I may even add on to my party. I have tons of friends and family.
I only had my sister in my bridal party. Most of my friends are still in college, or just starting out life as a "real person." We're scattered all over the country, it just felt like a lot to ask of them. Atleast I can say I'll always keep in touch with my bridesmaid's and I don't have any regrets!
We're just having our siblings: my two younger sisters are standing up with me, and his sister and brother-in-law with him. Choosing our family was an easy decision as we are both close to our sisters!
We're havin 6 maids/6 men 2 flower girls/ amd ring bearer and broom carrier ...lol...we have huge families and alot of nieces and nephews,,,,
We are having 6 BMs, 6 GMs, 1 JBM, 1 FG and 1RB. I'm undecided if I will have a flower girl. As cute as my current fg is, she is very shy and cries a lot, so I'm expecting her to throw a fit when it's her turn to walk down the aisle.
8 ladies and 8 men. i totally blame the FI for the crazy numbers but at the same time i would have had to make some tough, tough choices. also 2 FG and a ringbearer
we're having two bridesmaids and two groomsmen. no flower girls or ring bearers for us.
4 BMs 4 GMs 1 FG 1 acolyte (lights the candelabra prior to the ceremony) and possibly one ringbearer
7 bridesmaids!
7 groomsmen!
3 riing bearers!
2 flower girls!
whoaaa. thats almost 20 people! never thought about it like that! HAAH
i never thought i would have such a big party:
1 maid
1 matron
2 best men
7 bm
7 groomsmen
1 junior bm
1 flower girl
1 ring bearer
23 total including the bride and groom DAMMNNN lol
I have
1 MOH
2 Bridesaid
1 best man
2 gm
1 flowergirl
1 flowerboy
2 ring bearers
2 hostesses
2 aisle boys (dont know what the proper term is )
My FI has 7 brothers and sis so I want them to feel included :)
My wedding party is huge (and probably considered tacky since we are hoping for about 125 guests): 9 BM, 9 GM, 2 mothers, 2 fathers, 1 granny. LOL!!
3 Bridesmaids
1 MOH
1 Best Man
3 Grooms men
No Flower Girls or Ring Bearers
and hopefully 2 hostesses
We have a large family but we wanted the bridal party to be an intimate group
1 Maid of Honor
6 Bridesmaids
1 Groomsman
6 Groomspeople (including FI's sister)
1 Ring Bearer
That's it! Whew
Just 4 bridesmaids and 4 groomsmen. I did have a flower girl and ring bearer, but the economy will likely prevent them from attending. It made me a little sad to cut it at 4, but if I extended it to my next group of friends, there would have been 14 bridesmaids!
I'll have 5 girls next to me (1 MOH & 4 BM), and the FI will have 5 as well (1 Best Man & 4 G).
We're not having a RB or FG. I'm glad there's others out there that aren't having them either! The youngest person in my family will be 20 haha, there's no little ones around yet :).
1 Maid of honor
2 Bridesmaid
1 Jr Bridesmaid
1 Best man
3 Groomsman
1 Jr Groomsman
= 9
Thats it! were lopsided!
I have:
1 MOH
2 BMaid
1 BMan
2 GMen
1 JRBMaid and a young man to escort her- jr groomsman? lol
2 Flowergirls
and a RB!!
I have my sister standing, he has a best man, our ring bearer ... and that's it! I wanted only my sister to stand with me.
i'm having my 2 sisters and my best friend of like 16 years.
I have a maid of honour (my best friend since elementary; we just finished our first year of undergrad), and my fiance will have a best man for symmetry. Not sure if he'll use his brother, or one of his "better" friends (he's not too close to anyone in particular).
I was considering having my sister be a bridesmaid, but eh. There are other ways to involve her. =)
I have 1 MOH, 1 bridesmaid, and 1 male attendant. Fiance has 1 best man, 1 groomsman. We have 1 flower girl and no ring bearer. It's uneven, and the groomsman may end up having to skip if his wife goes into labor! Oh well. If we have to, we can swing my male attendant over to future hubby's side, to at least even things out aesthetically.
We struggled a bit on this - we both knew who our 'person of honor' would be, and that we wanted to include our sibs (my bro, his 2 sisters), plus my two little cousins as flower girl & ring bearer. It was a few other very close friends we struggled with... we culdn't have one without the other, but then we were getting too big, etc. etc. In the end we said best-friend and sibs only {plus the 2 kids}.
We'd also just been in a wedding where the groom refused to pick between friends and there was two girls and EIGHT guys. It was a tad nutty for us!
I know that everyone's situation is different (ie you might have 5 sisters you have to include in the wedding) but I find it really silly when I see a bride with 12 bridesmaids. It just seems a little over the top.
For me, just 3. My best friend since 1st grade. My FSIL. My friend from high school.
3 Bridesmaids
3 Groomsmen
2 MC's
1 Flowergirl
1 Ring boy
And it seems like alot, I know you want everyone but you have to look at reality, The photography costs more when you have lots of people and its harder to have everyone in every shot. Plus the money and invovlement for everyone and try to organzie 3 people is easier than 7. KIS (Keep it Simple)
It'll be just me and my sister. :) He's going to have his brother and best friend stand with him.
We have seven on each side. I would have liked it if FI could have narrowed his down a little more, but it gave me the opportunity to have both of my brothers stand up on my side and to ask my step-sisters (which I already am kind of regretting...!) as well, so I guess it's okay. (I would have liked to have three!)
1 MOH
3 BMaids
1 BM
3 GM
2 RB
1 FG
1 Honorary FG/RB - this is our new niece/nephew who isn't born yet :)
We are having MOH and 4 bridesmaids. BM and 4 groomsmen. A flower girl and ring bearer. I never thought I wanted a big bridal party but its so hard to narrow it down.
