So far, 3 groomsmen, 1 maid of awesome with 2 ‘pending.’

we won’t be having more than that.

eta: if you want that many people standing up with you, go for it. You’re only getting married once right?

How many guests are you having? If you’re only having 75 people then a 16 person (including you two) wedding party is pretty big. However, if you’re talking 150+, it’s fine. You chose your bridal party because they’re important to you. It really shouldn’t matter if its too big. Just remember that each person you include costs you money in the end (flowers/bouts and a gift).

We’re having 3 bridesmaids, 3 groomsmen, 2 ushers and 1 ring bearer.

@maybride2011: Holy shit.  That’s A LOT of people.  Good luck.

To answer your question though – I have 3 (possible) BMs and a MOH.  Not sure about the groomsmen yet because J refuses to make a final decision.

We have 7 each.  We have a very large wedding so this won’t seem imbalanced.  I once read somewhere that you should have 1 bridesmaid/groomsmen/usher for every 50 people in attendance.  I have no idea where this came from or if it’s outdated but figured I would throw it out there!

Im in a similar boat. I have 6 bridesmaids, and my fiance has 5 groomsmen.  For what it’s worth, I would suggest you think about your budget.  The more in the wedding party you have, the more it will cost for you (think flowers).

I think you can have as many or as few bridesmaids as you want! 🙂

I am having a maid of honor and 2 or 3 bridesmaids… I say 2 or 3 because one of my sisters may opt out (which is fine)! I told my FI that he didn’t have to be even with me, but he inists so he is having a best man and 2 groomsmen, and he’ll ask a third depending on whether or not my sister wants to do it.
