Soooo. I just came back from bridesmaid dress shopping with my best friend. I’m her Maid/Matron of Honor and she was good enough to tell her bridesmaids who are all shapes and sizes to pick whatever they wanted as long as it was long and the same color.
I fell in love with a beautiful bridesmaid dress from David’s Bridal style 81026, only problem was it was a little plain.
My solution was to put a cute sash with something on it. The plain pool blue needed something and the flowers were too “cutesy” and looked like they were more for a flower girl. I found a dynomite headband that I would substiute out for the blue sash and turn into a belt buckle….only problem it was $150 for said headband. That would be style h7593.
It was gorgous and exactly what the dress needed. However I couldn’t justify paying more for a belt than my dress. So off to the wonderful world wide web. When google was just falling short, I turned to etsy. Most belts were over the top and covered the entire waist. I wanted a simple, single brooch that looked similar to the lovely piece at DB. also some of the pricetags matched or exceeded that of DB.
I turned finally to ebay and I found exactly what I was looking for. I can’t wait for it to come in the mail.
Check out my awesome find!
My grand total with shipping is going to be $18…I think it’s pretty awsome in comparison to the $150 price tag.
So to all you bees in love with an accessory. Don’t let the bridal shops take advantage of you. Be diligent and look other places. You can find great stuff for a fraction of the price!
