Ladies, I tried on a dress that didn’t go with my “vibe” (outdoor/barn, bohemian, hipster, diy, wildflowers, etc) and now I am having a hard time figuring out how to style it to make sure everything looks good together! I originally wanted an etheral, chiffon, light flowy dress with a floral headpiece. The dress I tried on is a satin v-neck with beaded detail, front slit, and a really pretty back (Style SRL642 from David’s Bridal). I tried it on with a rhinestone sash and I just love it- I feel skinny, pretty, feminie etc (all the things I wanted in a dress). However, now that there is some beading on the shoulders and straps, I am wondering if I can still do a floral headpiece? Or do I need to do a rhinestone sash and rhinestone headband? I wanted a casual comfortable feel but I am not sure I can achieve this “Great Gatsby” inspired dress. Wedding is August 2015. The open front keeps it nice and “airy” so the satin isn’t a problem. Or should I just keep looking? Any thoughts?

i think if you add simple elements, like a non bling hair piece, it will help it match your vibe a bit. the beaded straps can be your “jewelry” its a beautiful dress

Just wanted to pop in and say that dress is stunning! As far as having it match your vibe, I agree with PP keep everything pretty no-fuss with your hair/makeup, keep the flowers in pastel shades. Whenever I hear “outdoor/barn” I always think “cowboy boots” – but that dress definitely wouldn’t be done justice with cowboy boots – but what about some turquoise accessories or accents (double whammy as your something blue!) to bring in a bit of an outdoorsy/barn feel?

MeredithRose: I adore this dress – do you have a pic of you in it. I think it sounds fine for your vision.
