I think a really simple way to infuse the venue with your colors is with event lighting. To me it's also a modern/glam effect. It's also easy to incorporate your colors with chair covers and table cloths! Those windows are awesome! I'm sure it'll look amazing at night!

@kn8973: Oh fail! I guess I didn't read all of your post well enough! Haha! Uplighting the walls in purple will look awesome!
@ashkat: Lol-- I just don't think uplighting will be enough. I love the lighting effect in the pics you included but I don't think it would turn out looking that way since the room is dark and only has windows, gold curtains and black walls. The lights don't bounce off black walls and gold curtains very well. I originlly wanted a room with white walls to the lighting wouuld look like what your pics look like. Am I over reacting?
Yeah..that's true the dark walls may just soak up the light. Not sure what kind of budget you have and I actually don't know how expensive it gets but what about doing some draping with white and then shooting the lights on that?

We thought about putting draping behind the stage, but that's really only the place in the venue that would have the ability to put draping. I don't want to cover the windows since the view was the main reason why we booked this space.

So.. I had a hard time deciding on a venue, and after 3 months of contemplating and the help of fellow bees.. I booked this one today (pic below). I'm going for a more modern, glam wedding, and I chose this venue mainly because of the view(located on the 43rd floor) & budget. It's not as modern as I was originally going for. It's full of black and gold which is opposite of my colors! My colors are violet white and silver. How can I turn this traditional venue more modern?! Would it even be possilbe? I do plan on using A LOT of uplighting! Any other ideas?! Did I make the wrong decision =(?
