Why not wear the mantilla further forward as a drop veil for the ceremony and then move it back for the rest? I think it would be really weird if your MOH went pulling things off your head in the middle of the ceremony. :/

I think your idea is what I'll most likely do--too bad that means I won't be able to fasten the veil to my hair and it might fall off. :/ I thought that was weird too, but I couldn't think of too many other ideas. Thanks ( :
Secure the drop veil with either a clear plastic comb stitched to the underside of the veil or a beautiful hatpin will keep it very secure when it's pulled over your head. After the ceremony you can secure the veil like a tradition mantilla on the top of your head.
Well, he wants to move my veil off my face either right after my father passes me off to him or right before he kisses me, and then between the ceremony and reception I was planning on taking off my veil and putting on a headband (since my veil will be very long).
You can find a mantilla veil with a blusher. Check out the Katherina McPhee's veil and the Pronovias veil halfway down this page: http://www.projectwedding.com/post/list/cathedral-mantilla-veil-with-blusher .
lol. My FI wants the same thing. So I thought of the drop veil with hat pin idea. But I was wondering if a hat pin will tear the veil with the weight of the lace? Hmm...
Good Luck! (Ps..Grass Valley is the cutest town! I loved visiting it)

@Alice Wonderland: Yeah, I thought of that too. But I guess I'll figure it out sometime in the next 29 months, lol. Congrats on your upcoming wedding! And hooray, someone who knows where Grass Valley is! I love it too, usually.
@Alice Wonderland: Here is what you can connect it with, it is what I am using. I am wearing a drop veil. These came from glamgal.com. The first one is mine and the next two are daintier versions of the same concept.

I want to wear a mantilla veil and simply have the top of it draped over the top of my head, not tucked into a bun or anything. However, my FH wants part of my veil covering my face so he can lift it back when I reach the altar. I don't want to wear a two-tiered veil. I would prefer if the piece covering my face could be completely detached once he lifts it off--perhaps he could lift it off and then my MOH could detach it for me. But I don't know how I could make a veil like that without it looking silly. Any ideas?
