More than likely you just think you look like a clown because you aren’t used to it. I would suggest going and buying some eyeshadows in a plum color (since your eyes are green mine too) and doing a nice heavy eye and taking a picture and putting up. Let us tell you how it looks, since for you it may just look way too different.

I think your skin looks beautiful! and I second using some plum. you might want to start with a little bit and add as you get more comfortable with it 🙂

You have the PERFECT canvas for makeup!  Your skin is beautiful.  I also say plum is a great bet.  Try some light greys and a light pink or peach blush also.  A bold red lip would look gorgeous on you, too.  Think Katie Perry or Michelle Williams.  Or, this random model that I found when I googled pale makeup images.

Plum thirded! You can also pull off a red lip (not many can!) You have the PERFECT coloring for makeup actually, because we have similar coloring and I’ve been told that a lot – pale skin and bright eyes is actually really good for this. 🙂 So maybe that will make you feel more comfortable with it. Just remember – it’s best to pick either eyes or lips to focus on. For me, it will be eyes.

If you want a softer look- light golds and brown will look great. I have your exact complexion (AND green eyes), my everyday make up is a light gold/slightly bronze baze with a dark brown blended into the crease. 🙂

@FutureJessicaMcB: I have the same problem!! I wear makeup with the shade called “PALE” and it’s still darker than me!!

Anyway, you can do totally nice porcelin looks. I def recommend going the innocent route aka, very light eyeshadow, LOTS of mascara and RED RED lips!

I’m sure you’ll look gorgeous!

I suggest you highlight your lips and cheeks and leave your eyes alone, apart from mascara. Go into Sephora and ask for their colorist.. they do wonders!
