I think part of it (for the show) is that they get paid to, basically, be bitchy. Beyond that, I don't know!
Yeah, I just can't imagine anyone would want to marry those women! The last one I saw, the bride was soooo mean to her FMIL, who was this sweet, quiet lady...it was awful. FMIL made a card box for her to use at the reception, and the bride didn't like it, so she put it on the floor and stomped all over it in front of her and cussed her out!! FMIL went off crying. INSANE! Oh, and the groom would just watch the bride act like this to his mom and say nothing!!
Oh my gosh i know!! I posted about this girl Karen before.
There is no way I would be her friend (or anyones) if she treated me like that.

@erindesmar: omg i hate watching the show because it perturbs me to no end!! i cannot believe that these people are getting married and i am still in waiting. it actually makes me ill watching those women and their idiotic attitudes. So instead I watch platinum weddings, whose wedding is it anyway, etc. i love the shows that are on style
I do know that they pay the brides, although it's not a lot of money... so these women must have a propensity for being mean anyway.
i was thinking the exact same thing on the weekend because we're finally getting it down here - 1am and thank you Tivo!
i love this show - wish more of it was on dvd because i drag hubby out to watch and then i say "arent you glad you married me!"
I can't believe how rude people can be! I couldn't ever imagine acting that way....or even anything less then gracious!

i thought the newer series was using actresses but there seems to be real bridezillas out there.
my fav doomed groom is Archie (from marsha and archie little rock wedding)... that poor man, i was yelling at the tv for him to run away and keep running
These girls are stark raving mad! A few of them seem like they are acting, but this one girl Karen is seriously insane.
That said, I have been cooking up a storm the past few hours and of course, watching the marathon : )

Omg Bridezillas drives me nuts! I watch it, but it makes me so mad/irritated!
@crebre: what channel is platinum weddings on?! I used to watch that all the time, but I can never find it anymore!
@CreBre80... thanks... i tried to google some forums about it and had heard that but didnt know if it was real or not. they seriously need to do a where are they now episode.
if it is for real, i dont htink i could be paid enough to act that way - some of the behaviours are nasty
i really wish we got say yes to the dress down here but i can only watch it online and they dont update their vids often
I was watching this tonight too! What are their FH thinking? That the behavior will stop after the wedding? My mouth literally drops when I see some of the stuff the brides pull on that show!
believe their is a word bridzilla for a reason and unfortionalty i have ecountered a few lol.
So i just finished watching an episode with Karen and I just have one thing to say:
Her parents should be so ashamed.
i actually watch it , a. because i like to remind the mr how nice i am :) and b, because i am always secretly hoping that the groom is going to say NO ..lol..Always hoping ..i was actually watchin one recently where the girl Kristen and herman had a falling out during the interview at the end ..so hopefully he runs for the hills ...and as for Karen ..well i think she's really like that.. and as the commentator said " he's been with her for 5 yrs , so don't feel sorry for him " ..LOL..sorry that just made me laugh ..even the commentator knows ..
I have a really hard time believing that it is all real. it just doesn't make sense to me at all.
I also tivo it and watch it with the FI when he is in town, and we all wonder how these women actually get married. There is no amount of money that I could be paid to act like that towards the people I care about. I remember the episode where she stomped all over the card box and made the FMIL run off crying! There is NO excuse for that! And this girl Karen...she seriously needs to be slapped. Talk about egocentric.

I am watching Bridezillas for the first time tonight...is this stuff for real!?! How can anyone be this rude and obnoxious? I am watching the show with Karen from NYC right now.
When my BMs and I got our hair done in the salon, the stylists gave us all gifts when we left. We were so thankful. The stylists told us that they had been saving the gifts for a nice bridal party and that none of the bridal parties had been nice lately! I couldn't believe it! Why do brides to be get so worked up/mean?
