Ok so I need some help. We are doing table destinations instead of numbers and we have a short description for each of the places and why they are so special to us. We would like to have all of that info on one seating chart board/poster/display. Has anyone done something similar? Any suggestions? I know this is going to be a last minut thing on our list but I’d love to at least figure out a design that we can pop the names into as we get closer.

Do you know approximately how many tables you are doing to have?

Personally, I would leave the descriptions off the seating chart. Your guests will want to quickly find their name on it and if there’s too much text and people hovering to read, that’ll be tough. You could add the description to the table name cards and use something like this for the seating chart:

oh, that is pretty!
We want to do something similar. I had thought of putting the descriptions on the back of the table name cards. I was considering having a little map of where the tables are on the seating chart but maybe it is unnecessary with only ten tables?
Would love to see more ideas for seating charts. Great thread!

I think we’ll probably have 13 tables.
@ Mrs.D-To-Be I like your idea. Did you have yours printed at like a Staples?
Our initial thought was if we had the decriptions and the table lists all in one place, then our guests wouldn’t have to walk around to each table to read why that place is special to us.
Now I know that I’m humoring myself to think that more than say 5 people will actually care to read the backstory, but I like to think that some of our guesst would like to know more about our time togther as a couple. 🙂 Right?
I’m going to talk to a designer friend tonight and see what he might suggest.

@junesun62: Oh, I’d love to take credit for that but it’s not mine. That’s Google search result. 🙂
