We were having Sunday dinner with family, out of no were, he got on one knee and popped the question. Dad caught the whole thing on camera. Everyone knew but me. Did not expect it, he picked out the ring and all. Great suprise, a moment I’ll never forget 🙂
How about you, How did he propose? Where you suprised or did you know it was coming?? Did you pick the ring? Did he pick the ring?

He snuck both of our families into a restaurant in NYC. When I walked up to our great private balcony table, our friends and family were there and he proposed. It was so beautiful and managed to be intimate even with all of those people there. I had an idea it was coming. He knew what I liked in a ring, but ultimately, he made the decision. He did beautifully!

My husband was dropping me off at my moms after going to Church. We was in the driveway hugging/kissing before he left like any other night (or so I thought.) When he held me close to his face & looked me straight in the eye & said “Will you marry me?” I said yes!!!!!! We got married in that very Church last year in December! It was intimate & very us! I wouldn’t have changed a thing!
I was totally suprised! & We picked the ring together afterwards.
Very sweet stories ladies!

Most unromantic story ever? OK. 😉
…we were lying in bed on a sunday AM, the morning after a pretty intense discussion (semi-fight) over our future. We talked and sorted through the stuff we needed to sort through. And then he was holding me and was like, “So… will you marry me?”
I hadn’t even brushed my teeth yet. That’s love.
We got the ring later and picked it out “together” (which was mostly me picking it out).

My fiance and I were on a trip in Punta Cana, I was over in my parents room (they came along with us) and when I came back our room (where he was) I went to get ready in the mirror, and noticed the sink was filled with water, and a leaf and a tropical flower floating in it with the ring on the leaf. I looked up and seen his reflection in the mirror get down on one knee, when i turned around he told me how much he loved me and asked me to marry him.
I had no idea, so he picked out the ring himself, I am still not sure how he got it through airport security!!

For my birthday my Fiance and I were both working. We agreed that the next day we would go hiking (since we both LOVE hiking) to some waterfalls (I am obsessed with waterfalls like you wouldn’t believe) and then go out for dinner and a movie that night. I knew he had something up his sleeve because we hadn’t been hiking in a awhile. We went to the first waterfall and nothing. The second waterfall as soon as we got down there pretty much he proposed to me. I knew it was coming, but it’s something that you don’t really prepare for. It was kinda like a dream. He actually proposed to me with the ring I told him I loved 2 1/2 years ago. What I didn’t know was that while I was getting ready he packed our bags and had actually booked a night for a honeymoon suite. We had a heart shaped jacuuzi, round king sized bed, and in our room we had a fireplace, sauna, and our own private swimming pool! I had a feeling about the engagement, but I was so floored that he actually pulled off the suite without me knowing!

My Fiance and I decided to take a long weekend trip. I knew he probably was going to propose… (we had been talking about it, and I knew it was near and that this was the perfect weekend to do it). That saturday night we went to dinner and it started to thunder and rain… he mentioned the idea of taking a walk, but with the stormy weather though that this might not happen… I still insisted that we go on the walk. (one of my best freinds got proposed to by her husband asking her to go on a walk… ) It cleared up, I got to take my walk, and on a park bench he took a ring out of his shirt and asked me! (He had been carrying it all weekend and said he had thought about proposing on a rollercoaster…. I’m glad he didn’t!

We went out with both of our families for his birthday dinner. A few minutes after we sat down he jumped up and said he had a present for me. Weird, but who my I to question presents? He hands me one of those oyster necklace things where you open the oyster and then put the pearl in the necklace. I pop the top on the oyster can and use the little tool to start prying open the actual oyster. Inside was my ring! He had used a side can opener to open the can and then glued it back together so the pop top would still be functional. He cleaned out the oyster, stuck my ring in, and then glued the oyster back shut. I loved it!

Ours was very simple and very us. He took me to a local town square — somewhere we have been going together for years. We walked around for a little while and then sat on a bench. He was very straight forward (although I can’t remember what he said now — blast!) and then said “will you marry me?”. It was VERY sweet :).

My Fiance started the student pep club when he was in college. It was named the “Smurf Club” As the founder, he was named Papa Smurf. We fell in love through Smurf Club, and I was soon named Mama Smurf!
When he graduated, I kept the club going. I was told that the club would be getting an award at a football game on the 50 yard line. So I asked him to come back for the game to accept the award.
Little did I know, he set up the whole thing. HE was presented Smurf Club with an award and a donation, but he was also presenting me an award of a diamond ring.
Both of our families were there and completly in on it.
Watch the video of it 🙂

We got engaged July 5th of this year 🙂 YAY! My Fiance and I were on vacation at his parents cottage in Chateauguay Lake , NY. We decided to go hiking one day to the top of Lyon mountain. Little did I know this mountain was gonna kick my a$$. I thought I was in shape but that was one hard hike. I complained half the way up :S until I wiped out on a wet rock. Fiance took care of my scrapes and then we continued up the mountain. By this time I was mad at Mr. Big ole mountain and refused to let it get the best of me. Needless to say we did make it to the top. We went and sat on the edge of this big rock enjoying the view of Champlain Lake, when he asked me if I still loved him for making me climb the mountain. When I said “Of Course” he asked me if I loved him enough to make him supper for the rest of our lives ( so romantic, lol) and pulled out the ring. I, of course accepted. I am now negotiating on what suppers I can forfeit to him though, lol. He already knows he gets to BBQ 🙂 If he still wanted to propose after all my complaining, how could I not accept.

I knew what day he was going to propose on, because he’s really bad at keeping secrets from me. After he blabbed the day, I stuck my fingers in my ears and started singing so I wouldn’t hear anymore details.
He took me to Longwood Garders on the Fourth of July (last year). We walked around for a bit, and everytime he stopped I’d wonder if that was it. We ended up walking through a trail in the woods, and I was totally distracted by how yellow the light was (from the leaves on the trees), and I felt a tug on my hand. I turned around and he was down on one knee. He said “In my life, I’ve loved you more…” (from our song, In My Life by The Beatles) “…and nothing would make me happier than to make you my wife. Will you marry…”
Then I interupted and yelled “Yes! Put in on already!” He had thought that I was supposed to take the ring from the box and put it on myself, I wanted him to put it on my finger. So then we walked some more, and everytime he saw something particularly pretty he’d stop us and ask me again. Later that day, we went and watched the fireworks show on the National Mall in D.C.

We got back late Sunday night from a crazy weekend full of errands and obligations. I was settling in on the couch, readying myself for a Gilmore Girls marathon. Just as I got comfortable, now husband came into the living room and said “Hey, do you want to go to the roof deck and drink this bottle of champagne for no reason?” Always ready for a drink, I said sure and we head upstairs, though I suspected what may be happening.
We start to talk about how gorgeous the view is, how DC is great in the fall, etc when he interrupts me and says he has a question. He dropped on one knee and proposed. I started to giggle, said yes, and proceeded to call every number in my phone to share the news.
Still too excited to go to bed, we both walk to our grocery store (which is open 24 hours), buy some ingredients for dinner. Once we got back home, I made perhaps the best macaroni and cheese dish ever.
