MissRustic:  No, but if you’re happy it doesn’t matter.  Things have only gotten better for me since turning 30!  My DH (then boyfriend) took me on a cruise, we did some more traveling, I got a promotion, got a couple cats, got engaged and now we’re married and looking at buying houses.   “Life moves pretty fast.  If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you might miss it.”

It sounded like a scary number, but it’s just a number.  Like you, I thought I’d been married with a kid, but I met my DH at 28.  At 30 we were engaged and married the following year.  Sometimes it’s hard to believe I turn 35 this year!  I don’t know where the times been.  I remember thinking back when I first started working after college at 21 that the people in their 30s were soooo *old* and been working so long.  Well that’s me now and I don’t feel old at all!  I didn’t achieve what I had pictured (mainly marriage/kids), but it doenst bother me at all.  Life is good.

Admittedly, I was pretty terrified to turn 30, but my 30’s have proven to be my best years so far.  I am certainly the happiest.  I met my FI right after I turned 30.  Since then we’ve gotten engaged, bought a house, traveled.  Life was a mess and a drama magnet for me in my 20’s.  I’ve grown up and learned from the mistakes that are inevitable in college and in your 20’s.  I feel like I’m living my life now instead of cleaning it up or working towards it.

It felt the same as every other birthday. It’s just a number and, for me, just another year. I feel content where I am right now in life.

I am scared of 30 that was always the age in my head when I was a kid that was ” old” haha. A couple more years for me but like Burlapnlace said life seems to get better with age

For me, it was just another birthday.  I felt the same way I did the day before, and every day before that.  The only thing that changed was a number.  I’m actually 31 now, and still feel the same, (although now I have to think for a second when someone asks me how old I am!  LOL!).

DH and I were married when I was 26, I started my massage therapy career and 27, and we bought our first house when I was 29, so I’d accomplished almost everything I’d planned to do by 30.  The one missing piece was a baby.  We were working on that, too, but had some issues with infertility.  I am 30 weeks pregnant now, but I assumed I’d be having Baby #2 by now instead of Baby #1.  Our bodies don’t always cooperate with us, though.

MissRustic:  We’re birthday months twins! I’m June 4th and i’ll also be turning the big 30! I’m actually excited for my 30’s. I spent my 20’s being lost, broke and trying to find myself. Now i’m in a groove. I’m in a happy place, and I heard the sex get’s better for women in their 30’s

I hated turning 30 and the months leading up to it. I put a tremendous amount of pressure on myself to “have it all figured out”, and at the time, I was still single with zero prospects and awful dating experiences, my plans to move to another city were going nowhere fast and the future terrified me. I wasn’t where I wanted to be, and turning 30 was a BIG deal to me, regardless of what other people said.

Now, thank goodness, I am engaged to an amazing man who loves me more than I ever thought was possible, I am moving to the city I had set my sights on when I was single, and I am much happier overall, now that I feel my life is getting more settled.

30 ended up being good to me. Now we’ll see what 31 holds!
